Living as part of a close-knit team on an ocean-going vessel, our students learn fundamental lessons beyond academics: teamwork, leadership, and personal responsibility. They receive academic credit from the University of South Florida, along with PADI scuba certifications and IYT sailing certifications. Abbey Road offers a two, three, or four-week Spanish immersion and homestay program in Cadiz, Spain, this July. Cadiz is the ideal summer study program location for high school students looking to gain all the benefits of a Spanish immersion program while enjoying the beauty of the Spanish coast. This unique Spanish homestay program is designed for students seeking intensive Spanish immersion, with the option of participating in a wide range of elective classes, specialty workshops, and weekend excursions. Apart from enrolling in the daily Spanish language course as their program major, students can select optional workshops and seminars which include Introduction to Spanish Film, Spanish Tapas Tasting, Water Sports, Art History and Architecture of Southern Spain, and Introduction to Salsa Dancing. While in Cadiz, students will stay with a local family (Along with two other Abbey Road students), spending four evenings per week at home enjoying dinner and activities. This charming beach community makes it easy for our staff to coordinate activities such as snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boats, soccer, hiking, swimming, horseback riding and offer exciting lessons during Spanish class.

Join the Barcelona Food Rescue and Community Empowerment program in Spain, where you can make a significant impact in one of Europe's most vibrant cities. This initiative, ideal for volunteers aged 16-80, focuses on uplifting a culturally diverse and underserved migrant neighborhood in Barcelona. You'll be at the forefront of combating food waste and addressing hunger, distributing surplus food to those in need. The program also includes community-building projects, weekly training sessions, and workshops on cross-cultural understanding and volunteer management. Engage in daily community workshops like yoga, meditation, and martial arts, and explore Barcelona's stunning Mediterranean beaches and coastal towns during your weekends. Stay in shared rooms at a cultural center or apartments, fostering a supportive community environment.

Learn Spanish in Malaga, Spain, with Agualivar. Participants are welcomed into the school where they experience the local way of life as part of a warm, friendly family. Besides living together with teachers, participants speak only Spanish every day. Teachers and the rest of the Agualivar staff help students find the right words to say in daily conversations. Courses are specifically designed to meet individual needs. The school is not a traditional academy; it is a beachfront village where students enjoy an unforgettable holiday while learning Spanish. Classes have a maximum of four students and lessons tackle all language skills: reading, writing, listening, speaking, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and culture. The tuition is usually in the morning, leaving the afternoons and evenings free for activities, visits, excursions, and/or private study. The great advantage of this program is that participants live in the house with teachers so that learning does not stop at the end of the lesson.
