Teach Abroad for Short Term in Prague, Czech Republic

I loved this course and the people who taught it! They are all so friendly and helpful!! The course is organized in a very intensive way to best maximize your time! When on this course you will also receive hands on experience teaching real students!!! It was a blast!!!

The TEFL Worldwide course was quite rewarding. I left the program feeling prepared and confident to utilize my newfound teaching skills. I would recommend this program to anyone looking to start teaching.

What a wonderful programme. I really thought I knew what it would be like to teach English as a foreign language, but it turns out there is so much more. The team are very experienced, and I am grateful to have attended the course.

When it comes to TEFL schools, I obvioudly only have this one to go off of. However, I can gladly say they make it really fun at times while still teaching you every single little thing you need to know to be successful as a teacher. The support is always there and it is truly amazing to have as many people as you do. I highly recommend if you are looking to move abroad and get your TEFL certificate.

The course and the ongoing support were fantastic. They did an excellent job preparing you. The classroom instruction was fantastic and they had an impressive amount of live classroom teaching time. It felt overwhelming occasionally, but in a good way. By Thursday of the first week you were in front of actual students and you taught 9 lessons by the end of the course. If you are serious about wanting to teach English abroad this course gives you all the tools to be successful.

I visited Prague for the first time in 2019 and by my third day here, I knew that I was going to live here. After four years of planning, speaking with friends, and testing out ideas regarding how practical the move might be, nothing was really happening. Then a friend mentioned that his niece had just spent a year in Prague and said that he would have her email me. Melanie did, and in her email was an invite to a Zoom meeting with folks from The Language House. I had just retired after 23 years of substitute teaching in middle and high schools for LAUSD and had no intention of teaching again. However, that 30-minute Zoom call opened the door for me to follow a dream. I learned that The Language House would not only qualify me for a TEFL certificate, but would help me with my visa to live here (thank you, Jitka) and show me how to find a place to live. Beyond that (as if that’s not enough), TLH alumni have become my family. Our October 2023 class has already enjoyed one reunion last year and now we’re planning another! And TLH grads are invited to the graduation party for each session - that’s about once a month - so I’ve become a member of an even greater community - TLH is a school that becomes a family. In less than two years, I managed to get work teaching in businesses (companies here sometimes hire English teachers to give their employees free English lessons, thus “added value” for the employee and the company). I’ve developed my own free-lance collection of private, one-on-one students in person and online (mostly through word-of-mouth, as Chris mentioned is usually the way it happens). It is a delight to forge new relationships with my adult students, relationships that are both meaningful and enjoyable. I started a wonderful, fulfilling life all over again here in Europe at 76 years old. I’m so thankful to The Language House for making that possible, for making yet another life’s dream come true.

I completed my TEFL certificate with The Language House way back when in 2016. The support and community provided was fantastic and I’ve applied the skills I learnt in the course across many different industries and occupations. 100% recommend, it was a life changing experience for me and I still have friends all across the world from my course.

I took this program just expecting to get a certificate and then be on my own however as an alumni member I still went to graduations and networked it was a fantastic experience I wouldn’t trade for anything. I quickly found work once the course was over some even managed to get employed before they graduated. Great program

It was the best possible choice for me. The Language House turned to be wonderful institution with excellent teachers and extremely supportive owner Chris.I learned quite a lot in term of teaching, because this has never been my primary profession. I did the language house back in 2016. I didn’t know anyone in Czech Republic and had no previous teaching experience. The school made the transition process for living abroad easier. With a large community and intensive training, they set me up for success. The classes were intense, but I loved the hands of training and the continued support after the course was finished. Doing this course was one of the best decisions I ever made.

The Language House was the best decision I have ever made. They guided me every step of the way and the support given to me in every aspect of my move to Prague was more than appreciated. They are unmatched in equipping students with the knowledge to effectively teach English as a foreign language as well as providing support through the entire journey. Chris and the staff are more than wonderful and I would recommend TLH to anyone and everyone .

The Language House in Prague gave me a truly hands-on, real-world experience that prepared me to start my next chapter living abroad. Even after teaching in the U.S. for over 12 years, I gained brand-new, practical skills to confidently shift into teaching English at both the corporate and elementary levels. Beyond the training, it provided a welcoming community of friends and support, which made building my new life here so much easier.

This school changed my life, plain and simple. Sympathetic staff, fair prices, and lifelong support. Wouldn't recommend any other TEFL school in Prague or elsewhere. They are very hands on, they care about what they do, and they make a difference in every student's life.

I learned how to teach, found work, and have had continuing support from them as well as a social network for the year since I’ve graduated. I’d recommend this program for anyone, my employers have all said my TLH education was a big reason for my hire.

I was the only non-native, so I was quite anxious about everything, but guys quickly reassured me. The course ticks all the boxes. You meet nice people, live in a beautiful city and you learn a lot. They try to make everything fun and easy.I was there 10 years ago and the certificate opened many doors in my career.

This school was the absolute best thing had happened in my life. The experiences I had there were some of the most memorable and rewarding in my 54 years on this planet. I would definitely recommend this school in Prague if you are thinking about working in the world of TEFL.

This was an intense and very educational TEFL course. I was dabbling inteaching before I took it, and after graduating I felt that teaching was a whole different world. It's intense, but it's all for a reason. You learn everything you need to start teaching abroad, there is assistance for everything you may need, and of course, practice lessons to actually put the things you're learning into practice! The trainers are all extremely knowledgeable and will be there to support you. I definitely recommend it!

It was definitely one of the most valuable things I have ever done, and, at 64 years old, one of the more challenging! I moved to Prague alone, it was the first time I had ever been in Europe, and I needed every bit of "hand-holding" The Language House provided. The staff is so professional, and the during and after support can't be beat. Most of the students were more or less right out of college, but whatever your age, go for it! The experience will rewrite your future.

Comprehensive program with great instructors and plenty of opportunities to learn and grow inside and outside of the program. Assistance with visa process and a great networking opportunity. Couldn’t recommend more.
