Study Abroad Programs in Darjeeling, India

Nepal taught me so much about myself and what I want even after my study abroad experience. It was an amazing opportunity to be able to connect so deeply and closely with a culture so different than mine. It is a gorgeous and endlessly surprising place. Similarly, although the ISP can sound a bit daunting, it was such an incredible experience for me. I got to immerse myself even more in the local people, customs, and attitudes as well as consider more deeply the kind of work I want to do in the future.

The SIT Nepal: Gender, Development and Social Change program is an experiential program, designed to immerse a student in the culture of Nepal, and give them access to important issues that local advocates, academics, and policy makers are grappling to address. We were given access to incredible staff, guest lecturers, and inspiring NGOS/ SDOS in Nepal that changed the game in terms of our perspectives on what we perceive development to be. The program's emphasis on cultural immersion is solidified because of our access to homestay families, which was one of the biggest highlights personally.

This was one of the best experiences of my life - Nepal and Kathmandu has so much to offer. Having learned the language it was so fun to meet so many people in the city and have so many new experiences along side my new friends in my program. I would do anything to be able to do it again.
