The curriculum for this program was created to meet the academic needs and interests of students in pre-professional medical studies and public health majors and minors, as well as students studying Anthropology, Economics, Political Science, Psychology, or Sociology. Through our program, you discover the different perspectives, challenges, and needs of diverse populations in London and Kingston with a once-in-a-lifetime service learning opportunity. During the final 10 days of the term, you participate in an extended course-related trip to Kingston, Jamaica, hosted by the University of the West Indies School of Nursing, Mona. Learn about the health care issues in a developing economy through lectures, discussions, and observation at community health clinics and local NGOs.

Our Academic Insights program provides ambitious high school students from around the world with unrivaled experience studying undergraduate-level subjects at Oxford and Cambridge University colleges. All classes are taught by expert academics from world-leading universities, such as Oxford, Cambridge, and Harvard. Each subject follows a specifically designed summer school syllabus. This combines theoretical knowledge with practical application, ensuring all students receive a well-rounded and challenging program that develops them for future success. With the support of expert academic tutors, all participants in the Academic Insights program complete a project. Whether an essay, presentation, or practical project, they receive ongoing support before presenting their ideas to their peers at the end of the program.

The Middlebury College – CMRS Oxford Humanities Program offers an academically rigorous curriculum of reading seminars, field research, and Oxford’s traditional one-on-one tutorials. Its affiliation with Keble College and central location in the historic city provide multiple opportunities for students to engage in Oxford’s academic and cultural life. As Associate Members of Keble College, Middlebury-CMRS students can participate fully in college life. At Keble, a short walk from their lodgings at St. Michael’s Hall, students can take meals at the dining hall, relax in the common room, and study in the Victorian library and reading rooms. Many students also join Keble sports teams and clubs. They have access to all branches of Oxford’s Bodleian Library, university-wide sporting facilities, and student associations, such as the famed Oxford Union. This 12-week Gap Year Semester Course is our most expansive and influential program. During the first six weeks, students travel to the UK and France, where they can explore art, architecture, food, culture, and much more. After this, they will travel to Tuscany and stay in Montepulciano, a beautiful hilltop town, for a two-week intensive Italian course. In the second six weeks, they will join other students to study on the Autumn Gap Year Course. They will travel across Italy, visiting Venice, Castelfranco, Bologna, Florence, Siena, and Rome, as well as taking day trips to San Gimignano, Verona, Naples, and Pompei. This program aims to give students the greatest experience of Italy and a better understanding of the "art world." It is an ambitious program that spread from the ancient world in Rome and Naples to the Renaissance in Florence and contemporary art in Venice. Students will learn about the works of Leonardo, appreciate Titian, and understand why Michelangelo is so significant. Students will also be introduced to dozens of other artists, read great poets from ancient and modern times, learn about rhetoric (Cicero), history, and literature, & appreciate architecture.
