Study Abroad Programs in Valdivia, Chile

While staying in Valdivia, a unique city in Southern Chile, students enroll directly at the Universidad Austral de Chile. This private university serves as the city's cultural center. Its 60-acre campus on the Isla Teja between the Calle-Calle, Cruces, and Cau-Cau rivers makes it an ideal location for an excellent rowing program. The university is one mile from the town center, and transportation is readily available. It boasts strong programs in ecology, marine biology, and forestry and offers a variety of liberal arts courses, including a faculty of fine arts. We also offer a Sustainability and Society Track in the fall semester in which students take Geology and Geography department courses. They then apply their knowledge through a practicum related to the efforts of the Wildlife Conservation Society in Karukinka Natural Park.
