My time at That’s Mandarin has been a really wonderful experience. My teacher, the other teachers and staff , and the friends I’ve met, all have contributed to helping me learn Chinese and for happy times here in Chengdu. Specifically regarding my teacher, she is patient and she shows an interest in my life and my hobbies, and then uses this to integrate into the lesson so that I enjoy it more. I started at Level 1 and feel that I progressed a lot with her guidance and support. The school itself is also very nice. It’s located in a trendy neighborhood in a nice building with cool common areas. I highly recommend that That’s Mandarin and I will be returning for level 2 and 3 and moving forward in my Chinese language journey.

An incredible experience! The idea of coming to China to study Chinese can feel overwhelming — which is normal in such a vast country with such a complex language — and if you’re reading this review, you’re probably considering it and have some doubts. I went through the same thing, but I ended up choosing to come to Chengdu and do a three-week course at That’s Mandarin. It turned out to be far beyond my expectations. Here’s why. First, the teachers: they really know what they’re doing. They listen to you, follow your progress, give you advice, and teach in a friendly, pressure-free way while still being highly professional. Second, the online materials used in class, which you can also access afterwards: they’re clear, well-designed, very effective, and will help you move forward during the lessons and, especially, later on when reviewing and consolidating what you’ve learned. And third, the results: in three weeks I progressed as much as I would in a whole year of classes in Barcelona. Because of all this, I’m already looking forward to repeating the experience another year. In short: if you have the chance, do it. You won’t regret it.
