This 7-day Biology Program is based in the Waterberg Biosphere, Limpopo Province, South Africa, and is designed for biology students seeking practical, field-based experience in conservation and ecological research. Hosted at Lapalala Wilderness, the program offers an immersive introduction to the daily realities of field biology within a large, protected landscape.
Lapalala Wilderness is internationally recognized for its commitment to long-term conservation and environmental education. The reserve combines biodiversity protection with youth education.
Participants work alongside conservation professionals and take part in hands-on activities such as vegetation and veld condition assessments, water quality monitoring (Mini-SASS), invasive plant management, tree and grass identification, animal health assessments, and area integrity studies.
