Highly recommend!
by: Jan Meek - United StatesProgram: Spanish Immersion Programs | Learn Spanish in Latin AmericaWe have only praise for Maximo Nivel! The facilities are clean, convenient, beautiful, and the pool is a definite plus. The classrooms are well lighted, comfortably furnished and the teaching materials are helpful. The common area and snack bar are a great place to meet people from all over who are at M.N. for different reasons - some to learn, some to teach and some to volunteer. The ladies who work the snack bar and teach the cooking classes are so nice, friendly and always ready to help! Our teacher, Yocelyn, is knowledgeable, interesting and patient and became not only our teacher but also a good friend! The education and students are priority at Maximo Nivel where they are open 7 days a week. Matt and his front desk crew are amazing - also always ready to help, checking on us and making sure our learning experience was what we had expected. Matt did a great job with our orientation. Viviana and Margelin always welcomed us as we came in the door and are so helpful answering questions and making us feel at home at the front desk. We made great memories at Maximo Nivel that we won’t ever forget!

Maximo Nivel es muy bueno
by: Steve Meek - United StatesProgram: Spanish Immersion Programs | Learn Spanish in Latin AmericaOur experience from start to finish was great!!! Tristen made sure we had everything we needed when we registered, Matt and Maryeling were great with everything we needed in Quepos and always available to help with information about the area. Viviana always greeted us with an infectious smile and friendly welcome everyday! Yoselin was a great teacher and we had a lot of fun learning Spanish! She was a perfect fit for our learning style and we made great progress with our conversational Spanish. Matt, Maryeling, Viviana, and Yoselin were all tremendous ambassadors for Maximo Nevile! The ladies in the tienda were all very friendly and showed great hospitality! The facilities were always clean and provided a great learning environment. The break area was especially nice for meeting other students from around the world. Overall our experience with Maximo Quepos was excellent and we would highly recommend it for a perfect place to study Spanish. It was a very productive and enjoyable month! Thanks, Steve Meek

Teaching English in Manuel Antonio
by: Nathalie Lacroix-Maillette - CanadaProgram: Top-Rated Volunteer Abroad Programs in Latin AmericaThere are no words to express how much I enjoyed my experience. The location, the assignment, the support from Maximo NIvel before and during my stay, everything was perfect. This memorable experience will forever stay with me. I was somewhat apprehensive before leaving home since I was travelling solo for the first time. I met wonderful people along the way and safety was absolutely not an issue with some precaution. Thank you!

I want to go to graduate school to pursue a PhD in Romance Languages. I have a degree in Spanish, but I knew I wanted to live abroad, immersed in the language and culture, and really perfect my Spanish skills before beginning such a high-caliber program. Having a degree in teaching ESL already, I knew I could get a job teaching English abroad without going through a TEFL/TESOL Certification program, but I wanted to go through an organization so that I would have a support system in my new home and could ease into life abroad with a group of peers who were doing the same type of thing as I was.

I traveled to many places, but as tourist only. I think I was just ready to take my experiences to a new level, really get to know the country as if I lived there. I traveled to India and China in the past, saw all the touristy places but didn't experience as much of their culture as I would like to. Volunteering in Guatemala was exactly what I was looking for: interaction with locals and living just like one of them.
