I worked closely with community members, students, and local leaders right here in Sogakope, learning about their culture while sharing my own ideas. We organized small learning sessions, community conversations, and cultural activities that brought us together. I supported students with basic learning support and mentorship, and it was inspiring to see their confidence grow. The experience also helped me understand the real needs of the community and the importance of listening first. Beyond the activities, I built friendships and learned new ways of working respectfully across cultures. I believe the work we did helped strengthen community participation and encouraged young people to stay motivated in school. Overall, the summer shaped my passion for service and showed me how simple actions can create positive change in the communities we serve together.
