10/10 experience wish I could have stayed longer
December 27, 2023by: Alfaaz Aziz Ali - United StatesI loved my study abroad experience in Prague! I lived in a whole country for a month with a great group of people!! During this time, I learned how to be confident and independent in a foreign country, engage with different groups of people, immerse in the culture, and grow past my comfort zone. The entire ECES and AIFS program were so helpful, engaging, enthusiastic about the program, us, and our well being. I felt like I belonged and I wish I could have stayed for longer than a month. If I had the option to study abroad again, I would go back and stay with Renata again for a semester in a heartbeat
Prague was amazing!
December 16, 2023by: Anusha Hansraj - United StatesI am so glad I studied abroad in Prague in the Czech Republic. It was an amazing experience and the city was beautiful. If you love old buildings and lots of cafes and culture, this is definitely the place to study abroad. The housing accomodations were also great, I had three other roommates but we all had separate rooms and a common kitchen/bathroom. Some of my other friends also had no roommates or the newly renovated rooms which were really nice! But either way, definitely a lot better than I was expected. It was also a huge plus that breakfast was served in the dorms Monday-Friday. Renata, the resident director, was the best, she had really great knowledge and insight of the city and you could tell she was really passionate about showing us around and connecting with each one of us! There were two built in trips within the Czech Republic and both were wonderful experiences I wouldn't have gotten otherwise. Classes were definitely a good chunk of the day since it was crammed into three weeks but thankfully, I still had ample time to explore the city and make lots of new friends. I definitely recommend this program!!
Typical Czech Meal!
July 06, 2023by: Jackson Cox - United StatesGet ready for a ton of walking, sweating (especially in dorms in summer), and learning what a typical Czech day, meal, lifestyle looks and feels. I believe that traveling is essential when developing a global perspective because everyone needs to come to the realization that everyone is more or less the same, and therefore, deserves you love and respect. Coke tastes like Coke zero, there is liquor in cafes, and tourists are the worst. Other than that Czechia is like everywhere else meaning it is full of rich culture and people ready to welcome you. Go trippin in Prug!
Lovely time in Prague
July 06, 2023by: Anusha Hansraj - United StatesMy experience with AIFS was so fun and better than I could have imagined! I made such close friends more than I was expecting and we had so many great experiences together, including an overnight trip to Moravia. I love that we got to see other cities in Czech Republic. Our resident director was truly amazing! She made sure not only that we were comfortable and safe, but also that we got to see some unique things that weren't as touristy. We also went on tours and learned so much about the history that we never would have known otherwise. I couldn't recommend it more
Everyone should study abroad
July 06, 2023by: Sage Steele - United StatesI had such an amazing time in Prague exploring the city and taking classes. I went beyond the tourist experience and was able to see the city and rest of the country. The program staff is incredibly supportive and will help you plan activities that you are interested in.
Study abroad in Prague!
July 06, 2023by: Kay Sheeger - United StatesI had an incredible experience in Prague. Thanks to the program staff, I was able to explore the city and other parts of the country to a degree I did not originally expect. The program staff is incredibly supportive and will help you plan activities that you are interested in; some of these activities, I don't expect to forget for a very long time.
European dream
July 06, 2023by: Charlotte Love - United StatesMy study abroad in Prague was an incredible experience and I learned so much about myself and the Czech Republic. I loved living in the city where I could see so much and immerse myself in the culture. There is so many amazing trips and events planned by AIFS that I was never bored. I always felt at home with the staff and they were always so enthusiastic about helping us get to know the city. I have fallen in love with Prague and hope to return soon because of this trip.

I was able to travel around to a few countries while here and had an amazing time. I have made some life long friend that I will forever cherish our expierence with. If you have the opportunity defenitly come to Prague!
Great learning experience
May 09, 2019by: Caroline Stewart - United StatesWhen I was first home in the United States, I struggled with communication with my admissions officer. I was overwhelmed with visa issues and felt that I was not getting the help or information I needed. I did not know what to expect regarding housing, and when I came into the Czech Republic, I was originally very surprised with my housing. Had I known what to expect, I feel that my adjustment period would have been easier. The staff in Prague, however, were great. I felt that they all cared for the students and our wellbeing. I learned a lot throughout my stay here about the culture, about Europe, and about myself. Overall, I loved studying abroad, and would recommend it to anyone else.
The best month of my life
July 20, 2017by: Josh Masin - United StatesI love the United States and studying abroad was something I always wanted to try but was scared too. Being able to communicate with the staff and just seeing how helpful they were was a very good thing. Prague is an amazing city and I would gladly move here based on my experiences, if the language wasn't so hard to learn!
Prague summer 2017 AIFS
July 20, 2017by: MP - United StatesSuch a fantastic program! The staff is very helpful and they provide great trips and activities to help you get to know the city and surrounding countries! The dorms were nice and there are many places around the area to get food or anything you might need! It's a short tram or metro ride to the city center to class! I would recommend this trip to anyone!
A life changing experience!
July 20, 2017by: Petra Bryda - United StatesStudying abroad with AIFS was truly amazing and stress free! They take care of everything whereas those coming to study at the university outside of the program have to do everything themselves. They arranged flights, every week provided fun activities to immerse us in the culture and offered extra trips to go on. The staff was always super helpful and actually cared about your well being. Not only that but the people you meet here will become some of your best friends! I would recommend anyone wanting to study abroad go through AIFS, I know I will again next summer!!!
An unforgettable experience
July 20, 2017by: Kellan Heavican - United StatesIt was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I never dreamed visiting Prague with AIFS would be so fulfilling. I will be carrying many relationships with my peers on long after the conclusion of the program. It was really the best experience of my life. The people, culture, AIFS staff, and food put me in a dream that I don't want to wake up from.
Best experience of my life!
July 14, 2016by: Rebecca - United StatesThis past month has been the best experience of my college career/ life. If I can give advice to anyone thinking about signing up for this program, I would say DO IT. And go for as long as you can!! I am so sad this short four week journey has come to an end. I have made countless memories, and met some of the best people I have had the pleasure of getting to know. Prague is a beautiful place with so much to offer- no matter what your interests or preferences are there is something here for everyone. 5 star trip!
This is the best month of your life
July 14, 2016by: anonymous - United StatesThis program has hands down given me the best month of my life. There are amazing people that go on this trip, and you WILL make friends that you will have for the rest of your life. You think you love college....just wait, youre going to be blown away. The culture is incredible, the city is safe, the nightlife is fun, and the excursions open your eyes to a whole new world. YOU NEED TO GO ON THIS PROGRAM.
A fantastic time
July 14, 2016by: Katherine Coates - United StatesMy experience with AIFS is one I'll remember for the rest of my life. Every aspect from the academics, to the adventures, and to program administrators made my experience so memorable, safe, and rewarding. I especially loved their commitment to providing as much independence as possible, while also organizing enough events and activities to help acclimate you when you aren't feeling quite up to arrange everything on your own. I had a fantastic time and learned so much!
EAT
July 14, 2016by: Allie Palm - United StatesPrague is unique in every aspect and offers many different shops, sites, and restaurants. I love food but I find myself to be a picky eater, so I was worried Prague wouldn't be able to cater to my taste. I was pleasantly surprised with all the amazing options that also offered amazing views of castles, rivers, and amazing architecture. I highly suggest to anyone to just jump onto the tram and taking it to some place different to see the unique characteristics of Prague, and to wine and dine (or beer, since they're known for it!) and take in all of Prague's beauty. The tram is extremely accessible wherever you are, so it's hard not to be lost! I loved my experience here, and would do it over a million times!
Great!!!
July 14, 2016by: Emily - United StatesZ, Renata, and Karin are the great! So glad I chose Prague; for sure the best city! All the things to visit and eat are limitless. There is just enough opportunities they present you with and plenty of free time to do whatever you want!
Prague 101
July 14, 2016by: Carmela Cirilli - United StatesTry to speak Czech, people will be nicer to you! The foods may seem a little strange but don'ts be afraid to try new things. Stay open-minded and you will meet great people! By the time it is time for you to leave, you won't want to go home.
Prague study abroad
July 14, 2016by: Jordan Moore - United StatesWould recommend to anyone. Beautiful place with a rich and interesting culture far different from American but not different enough to be scary or unwelcoming. Staff did a wonderful job making everyone feel safe, knowledgeable, and included.
Best month of my life
July 13, 2016by: Chelsey Morrow - Czech RepublicHonestly, I could not have chosen a better place to spend a month of my summer. Prague was amazing for food, things to do at ANY point of the day or night, and to meet new people (Czech people AND international people). Get out of your comfort zone and try new foods (definitely the goulash and dumplings, and trdelnik) and go out and explore new things every day. Prague is absolutely beautiful and there are new things to experience every single day!
Prague summer 2016
July 13, 2016by: Caroline Sala - United StatesAIFS staff was absolutely wonderful and did a great job making me feel welcomed and comfortable. The professors of the classes were so great, and included a lot of excursions and activities outside of the classroom to show you more of Prague. Prague is also very cheap compared to other European countries, so that made it very affordable. Only thing that I have to complain about was the dorm...it wasn't the cleanest and the staff wasn't very nice. But, I hardly spent any time there because I was out doing stuff, so it wasn't a huge deal. 10/10 would recommend this program!!
Amazing time abroad
July 12, 2016by: Kayla Irvine - United StatesThe directors for my program were so helpful in the first few days, which really helped me to get adjusted. Really thankful I did this experience, and would definitely recommend this to anyone considering it!
Prague
March 18, 2015by: Jackie Sirovina - Oak Creek, WIBefore I chosen Prague for my study abroad program location, I had no idea where it even was. Searching to find it begun my adventure. Upon my arrival and transportation t the dorms I was amazed how different it was from America which I was greatly searching to get away from and do something completely new. I instantly fell in love with the city. By AIFS offering tours and excursions within the city helped me understand better on the cultural and historical aspect of this wonderful city. It was a start for me to then explore the rest on my own. However, I did chose to take the arts course they offered which helped me experience more cultural parts of the city I know I would've missed otherwise. I loved the fact that for this class we spent majority of our time learning in museums or at famous architectural sites throughout the city. It was amazing how many centuries of the cities architecture still stands today. This program opened my eyes to see more of the world and its hidden gems.

I have always dreamed of going abroad, but never thought it could be a reality. Once all my friends started signing up for their programs, I decided to sign up myself.
