A Breath of Fresh Air
by: Wiam Salih - United StatesProgram: AIFS Abroad Internships in Dublin, IrelandMy time an Ireland felt like a coming up for fresh air. The city was beautiful and peaceful. There was greenery everywhere; and it was tranquil. Coming to Ireland was difficult because I had never travelled out of the US alone before. But the second I landed I received nothing but hospitality. Arriving in Ireland I had beautiful conversations with the people. I was always left feeling full of energy. I met amazing people who I still see and talk to today. I will always hold the memories I had there close to my heart. It was the best summer of my life and I will forever be grateful for my time there.

What's the craic with AIFS?
by: Nikheal Patel - United StatesProgram: AIFS Abroad Internships in Dublin, IrelandI recently had the incredible opportunity to embark on an intern abroad journey with AIFS Abroad, specifically placed at the Marino Institute of Education in Dublin. From the outset, AIFS Abroad proved to be an exceptional facilitator of global experiences, and their commitment to fostering cultural immersion and professional growth was evident throughout my internship. One of the most commendable aspects of AIFS Abroad is the passion that permeates their team of 30+ world travelers. Their collective firsthand experiences of living, working, and studying abroad create a supportive and knowledgeable network. This team's shared love for exploration and cultural immersion became a guiding force in my own overseas adventure. AIFS Abroad's commitment to customization truly sets them apart. The international internship program I participated in was tailored to meet both my personal preferences and professional aspirations. This made the entire experience not only enriching but also uniquely mine. Their ability to strike a balance between fulfilling personal travel aspirations and providing valuable professional experiences is truly the best of both worlds. The professional attributes of my internship at Marino Institute of Education were enhanced by the seamless support provided by AIFS Abroad. The guidance and mentorship extended by both AIFS and the hosting institution created an environment conducive to personal and professional development. The internship was not just about completing tasks; it was about gaining a deep understanding of the local work culture and contributing meaningfully to the host organization. Socially, the experience was equally rewarding. AIFS Abroad facilitated cultural integration activities, ensuring that participants had ample opportunities to engage with the local community. From language exchanges to cultural outings, these activities fostered meaningful connections and helped me truly immerse myself in the vibrant tapestry of Dublin. The sense of community created by AIFS Abroad went beyond the workplace, contributing significantly to the overall richness of my time in Dublin. Culturally, Dublin provided a backdrop that exceeded my expectations. AIFS Abroad's local knowledge and support were instrumental in navigating the city's unique cultural nuances. Whether it was exploring historical landmarks, attending local events, or enjoying traditional Irish cuisine, AIFS Abroad played a vital role in making every cultural encounter memorable. My intern abroad experience with AIFS Abroad in Dublin was nothing short of transformative. Their commitment to customization, professional development, and cultural immersion created a holistic experience that surpassed my expectations. AIFS Abroad not only encouraged me to pack my bags and explore the world but also equipped me with the tools and experiences necessary to thrive in an increasingly globalized economy. My time in Dublin, thanks to AIFS Abroad, has left an indelible mark on my personal and professional journey, and I wholeheartedly recommend their programs to anyone seeking a truly enriching international experience.
A Memorable Maritime Adventure in Dublin
by: Eve Courtenay - EnglandProgram: AIFS Abroad Internships in Dublin, IrelandI recently had the incredible opportunity to embark on a two-month internship at the National Maritime Museum of Ireland in Dublin, and it was an experience I'll cherish for a lifetime. From the moment I stepped into the museum, I was captivated by the rich maritime history that unfolded before my eyes. The exhibits were not only informative but also beautifully curated, showcasing Ireland's deep connection with the sea. The museum's collection of artifacts, ship models, and interactive displays provided a comprehensive and engaging overview of the nation's maritime heritage. The internship itself was a fantastic learning experience. The museum staff was knowledgeable, passionate, and incredibly supportive, creating a conducive environment for professional growth. I had the chance to work on various projects, gaining hands-on experience that will undoubtedly shape my future in the field. However, one aspect that warrants consideration is the overall cost of living in Dublin. While the internship itself was an invaluable experience, the city's high living expenses were a notable challenge. Accommodation, meals, and transportation quickly added up, making it a bit of a financial strain. For those considering a similar opportunity, it's advisable to plan and budget carefully to make the most of the experience without compromising one's financial well-being. Despite the expense, Dublin itself is a vibrant city with a unique blend of history, culture, and modernity. Exploring the city during my free time was a joy, with its charming streets, friendly locals, and a plethora of cultural attractions. From the iconic Temple Bar district to the serene St. Stephen's Green, Dublin provided a perfect backdrop for my time away from the museum. In conclusion, my internship at the National Maritime Museum of Ireland was an enriching and fulfilling experience. The knowledge gained, the people I met, and the memories created will undoubtedly contribute to my personal and professional growth. While the cost of living in Dublin presented a challenge, the overall experience was well worth the investment. If you have the opportunity to intern at this remarkable institution, seize it – just be sure to plan your budget wisely!
