studying abroad with AIFS Abroad helped me grow personally and professionally—I developed confidence, adaptability, and skills that will carry into my career. I’d recommend AIFS Abroad to anyone looking for not just an academic program, but a complete experience that combines education, culture, and personal growth.

I loved going abroad with AIFS! The campus is so close to downtown and a block away from the beach. We had so many planned activities and excursions that were super fun. Our director was so supportive and helpful with anything we needed during our stay.

An unforgettable experience

This experience was truly amazing, not only because of the beauty of the area but because of all the wonderful things I learned. I never expected to learn as much French as I did and to learn so much about Frances culture. I think that studying abroad is essential because if helps you understand another culture, but also it helps you look at your own culture more critically. I wish I could do it again and I hope that everyone deciding to study abroad looks at the program AIFS. I would’ve never gotten to see all the amazing places and to do the things I did without being in the program that I was in.

Studying abroad in Cannes is so much fun! The program allows you to be fully immersed in the language and the community. You also get the benefit of living on the beach, and a very short distance from the Alps. The school is small, so it’s easy to meet people.

The AIFS program had a wonderful administration who help you with virtually anything. I was a little disappointed with the location because there are a lot of tourists and people who speak English but there are also plenty of people who speak French. The rooms are nice but in general Cannes is not handicap accessible. I have had my own personal ups and downs here in Cannes but the program with AIFS has been really good overall.

The academics are very good.

I love the teachers that I have and they do a really good job making really long classes interactive and enjoyable. Living facilities are very nice but there is no air conditioning or a refrigerator to store food. There are also a lot of stairs, so it is not handicap accessible. It is awesome to meet students from all over the world but I don't feel a huge immersion into the French culture. The program administration is excellent. They are great at providing information, assistance, and at planning programs and excursions. Overall, the experience has been a good one thus far and I would definitely recommend it to others.

The living situation is pretty bad.

The living situation is pretty bad. I am stuck in a triple with the equivalent floor space of some of the singles. The teachers are great and I am learning a lot. The program administration is not very organized.

The campus is beautiful

The campus is beautiful and the faculty are all so nice. I love having a maid that cleans our bedding once a week and our floors more frequently. Having the staff speak to us solely in french is very beneficial. There seems to be some difficulty in placing students correctly through into the right level class.

The website said we would have air-conditioning and we didn't, so that was a bit disappointing. It gets pretty hot. Also, the area can be a bit unsafe.

Being able to live in Cannes, France for a month right across from the beach is a rare opportunity. And to be surrounded by a wonderful staff and new friends makes the experience that much more memorable and fun! I'm so lucky to be studying here and learning so much from interacting with the surrounding culture. I would definitely recommend this program to other students hoping to study in France.

The college and staff is amazing and classes are challenging and interactive. The small classroom vibe provides for 1 on 1 instruction when needed. Although the area has so much to offer I do wish the school provided more safety/security for when student are off campus. Aside from that I would recommend this experience for anyone!

I'm learning so much here

I only gave cultural immersion a C because there are so many people who speak English. Other than that, everything has been absolutely WONDERFUL! The administration, the area, the living situation, and everything has been great. I feel so supported and I'm learning a lot!

When I was planning my study abroad I knew that I wanted to go to France and live in an authentic French town and get an incredible experience. Studying and living in Cannes was amazing. The college was very small which I loved because I got to meet and become good friends with all the other students from different countries. Because Cannes is not a huge touristy city (minus the Festival), I was not able to rely on speaking English so it was a great way to improve my French. It is a gorgeous city and close enough to Nice, Monaco, St. Tropez, and other parts of the Cote d'Azur. I highly recommend this program if you want to study abroad in France. You will absolutely love the college, the beaches, the people, the town, and of course the food and wine :)
