Russian as a Foreign Language in Daugavpils, Latvia

Learn Russian in the EU provides intensive one-on-one courses in Russian as a Foreign Language. These courses help students improve their general skills in reading, listening, speaking, and grammar at target Russian proficiency levels, up to ACTFL Advanced Mid/ CEFR B2. Students can focus on developing practical communication skills, refining their grammar, and preparing for upcoming university exams or specific tests, such as the DLPT, OPI, or TRKI (TORFL). Each student can maximize training outcomes by customizing major course parameters, including the proficiency level, start and end dates, number of lessons, areas in grammar or communication topics to be covered, and others. Living with a Russian-speaking host family and full language and cultural immersion in Daugavpils, the most Russian city in the European Union, will help students make rapid progress. For students at lower proficiency levels, we recommend taking up to four individual lessons daily. We can also ensure that teachers are fluent in English. For students at higher levels, we recommend taking up to six individual lessons per day.

Best study abroad program

September 06, 2024by: Julia McIntosh - United StatesProgram: Bishkek: Russian as a Second Language

Over the years, I have participated in 3 study abroad programs and have lived in 7 countries with various programs. My 4 months in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan during the Spring of 2022 with SRAS were among my favorite months ever spent abroad! SRAS did a great job incorporating cultural activities around the Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, and Central Asia throughout the semester. The trips spent in the Eastern region of Kyrgyzstan and across Uzbekistan are still some of my favorite trips of all time. The academics were also fantastic. I began with quite a low level of Russian, and after the months of 4-hour-a-day Russian intensive classes - which were essentially private classes - and living with a host family, I felt confident carrying out basic conversations in Russian. I adored my host family and enjoyed the independence both they and SRAS gave me to explore the city, socialize at night, and travel internationally. I couldn't recommend SRAS Bishkek enough!
