How to Go on Adventure Travel in Vietnam

Prepare for an Adventure Abroad

Set goals

Before you pack your bags for Vietnam, think about what kind of adventure you want. Setting goals will help you plan the trip of a lifetime.

  • Pick your adventure style. Are you into heart-racing hikes or laid-back coastal vibes? Knowing your travel personality helps you choose the right Vietnam tour.
  • Learn the local lingo. Even just a few Vietnamese phrases will help you connect with locals and show respect for the culture.
  • Research the seasons. Vietnam’s weather varies from north to south, so plan around dry or wet months to make the most of your trip.

Understand the benefits

Choosing an adventure travel program in Vietnam means way more than ticking off landmarks. It’s about growth, connection, and memories you’ll keep forever.

  • Immersive travel. You’ll see Vietnam beyond the tourist lens — meeting locals, trying traditions, and discovering hidden corners of the country.
  • Affordable excitement. Vietnam gives you big adventures without a big price tag, from kayaking in Halong Bay to trekking in Sapa.
  • Epic scenery. Get ready for jaw-dropping views: emerald rice terraces, coastal cliffs, and jungle-carpeted mountains.

Things to know

Adventure in Vietnam comes with its quirks — that’s part of the fun! Here’s what to keep in mind before diving into the action.

  • Weather watch. The rainy season runs from October to January, so pack lightweight rain gear to keep adventuring no matter what.
  • Accommodation varies. Depending on your program, you might stay in homestays, guesthouses, or even camp under the stars.
  • Respect the culture. Dress modestly, learn simple greetings, and be mindful of traditions—Vietnamese hospitality is unmatched when you show appreciation.

You can’t go wrong with VIETASIA TRAVEL!

July 11, 2024by: Joan Williams - AustraliaProgram: 10 Days Vietnam Highlights Tour with Phu Quoc

We were in Vietnam for 9 days and I booked a private tour through VietAsia Travel for the entire trip. From the beginning when I first contacted the agency, the Sales Agent Hoang was so helpful and accommodating and patient in answering all my questions and catered the trip itinerary to exactly as I wanted. Even though the trip was short, we moved around a lot between cities (Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, HoiAn, Danang, Ho Chi Ming). Doing this trip with VietAsia made the trip soooo convenient. We were told what time to be ready for pick ups and a driver/tour guide was always waiting for us whenever we landed. We were taken to many tourist attractions and locations in comfortable air-conditioned cars. Not to mention all the tour guides assigned to us were FANTASTIC. They were all so friendly and so knowledgeable. I enjoyed each and every tour! I will absolutely recommend any one who is interested to go to Vietnam to go with VietAsia. I will definitely return back to this beautiful country with VietAsia again!!!
