Journey into the heart of the East African wilderness by exploring three of Uganda’s famed national parks and making an invaluable contribution to protecting these animals. Discover Corps offers this unique experience where you trek with a veterinarian to assist in the collection and lab analysis of gorilla data from stool samples and learn more about the vital preservation work being done by the Gorilla Conservation Camp. Over ten days, we will immerse ourselves in the natural world with overnight stays in stunning safari lodges with excursions into a series of Ugandan wildlife reserves. Animal encounters will include tracking and observing chimpanzee families in their natural habitat, spotting elephants, leopards, and buffalo on game drives, and coming face-to-face with rare tree-climbing lions - a rare breed of lion only found in two places in the world - as you track them with a local conservationist. In addition to safari experiences, we will enjoy authentic cultural experiences, from visiting the children at a rural community school to learning basket-weaving from women involved in a local charity project.

This 10-day Uganda Adventure safari offers an unforgettable journey through the country’s most spectacular national parks and wildlife destinations. The adventure begins in Murchison Falls National Park, where travellers enjoy game drives and a boat cruise along the Nile and en-route Ziwa Rhinos Tracking Exercise. The safari continues to Kibale Forest National Park for chimpanzee tracking and a guided nature walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary and Visit to creater Lakes Region. Guests then explore Queen Elizabeth National Park with a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel and a unique lion tracking experience. The journey concludes in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. Travellers trek through the rainforest to observe gorillas in their natural habitat and visit the Batwa community to learn about their culture. The 5-day Gorilla and Chimpanzee Habituation experience will take you closer to gorillas at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and chimpanzees at Kibale National Park. You will spend many hours with these apes, learning about their behaviors and lives. This trip may involve flying from Entebbe to Kisoro, where you head to Rushaga, the southern sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Next, travel to Kasese for the next destination, Kibale National Park, and then back to Kasese after all the activities. Fly back to Entebbe International Airport for your return home.
