Work to protect endangered sea turtles and their coastal habitats while supporting local conservation efforts. You will assist a dedicated conservation team to help ensure safe nesting and hatching environments and contribute to long term protection of marine life and shoreline ecosystems. Typical tasks include monitoring nesting beaches at night or early morning, recording turtle sightings and nesting activity, helping mark and protect nests, supporting relocation of eggs when necessary, and assisting with data collection on hatchling numbers and survival rates. This program is ideal for individuals who care deeply about marine life, enjoy outdoor work and are ready for early mornings or late nights during nesting season. Experience is not required — full training and supervision are provided by local conservation staff. Patience, respect for wildlife, a calm approach and willingness to follow guidelines are essential for effective and ethical involvement. In your free time you can explore Nusa Penida’s tropical beaches, snorkel or dive among coral reefs, hike coastal cliffs, enjoy local culture and cuisine, and appreciate the natural beauty of the island.

This project aims to rescue and rehabilitate sea turtles that are gathered from local fishermen. You will be an integral member of a team that is caring for injured turtles and helping them to return to their natural environment. You will also gather data that will then be sent to a worldwide marine conservation organization. This adventure will also connect volunteers to the local Balinese community where you will educate children and teach them the importance of turtle conservation. This is a rewarding experience for anyone who wants to make a difference in marine life and help take care of injured turtles until you release them back into the wild. You are also teaching locals the importance of these precious sea turtles and encouraging them to care for their environment.

This hands-on experience allows us to rehabilitate vital ecosystems and deepen our understanding of wildlife conservation. Next, we transition to Northern Bali and the spiritual village of Ubud. Here, we earn our PADI SCUBA certification in the tranquil waters of Lovina before collaborating with a local marine biologist to help restore coral structures.
