Costa Rica: Protecting Rainforest Wildlife

Explore an 18-day adventure in Costa Rica, a global leader in biodiversity. This program is for high school students who are passionate about wildlife conservation. Assist scientists at the Monteverde Institute, protect endangered sea turtles, and volunteer at a wildlife rehabilitation center. Learn Spanish & Surf or Yoga 1 or 2 Weeks

The lively beach town of Santa Teresa is world famous for surf breaks across beaches pristine, uncrowded and seemingly endless. After surfing and sunbathing are over for the day – and Spanish lessons and surfing! – the town comes alive with funky surf shops, cafes, restaurants and nightspots for every taste and budget. Your experience will be based at ‘Jakera Jungle Surf Camp’ where we have created a jungle paradise complete with swimming pool overlooked by a rich tropical forest bursting with wildlife including red squirrels, howler monkeys and tiny magical hummingbirds. We are a 5 min walk from the cool cafes, bars and shops that line the 6km stretch of road and beach that make up Playa Santa Teresa/Playa El Carmen. This program starts on the first and third Sunday of each month, so clients can ‘settle in’ before the program proper starts on Monday morning. As well as Spanish lessons and professional surf instruction and guided/supervised surfing, other programmed activities include hiking so you can explore and enjoy the beautiful hinterland of Nicoya Peninsula. Costa Rica – Montezuma Sea Turtle Volunteer Program

Join the Montezuma Sea Turtle Volunteer Program in Costa Rica and contribute to the preservation of endangered hawksbill sea turtles. Based in the stunning region of Montezuma, you'll work alongside a team of international volunteers to protect nesting sites and assist hatchlings. For those looking to combine training of the body and mind, NSI's Spanish & Yoga program combines the best of what Nosara has to offer. As a world-class yoga teacher training destination, Nosara has an abundance of expert yoga instructors and first-class yoga studios. In this program, students can participate in our 10 or 20-hour Spanish course and schedule their yoga classes before or after their Spanish classes. The Spanish classes will take place Monday-Friday at our campus, and the yoga classes at the beautiful, newly designed Bodhi Tree Resort, which is just a 10-minute walk along a nature trail from our campus.
