Dead air

- A period of total silence in a discussion.
Example: Hugh sent a dead air to the group after recalling how he survived the tragic Mt. Danglai landslide.

- Put to rest forever.
Example: Vernon decided to lay down dead and buried his argument with his brother Tyler.

Example:

Do a hatchet job

- To say bad things about a person; to destroy somebody's reputation.
Example: Trina was jealous with the promotion Lucy got so she did a hatchet job on her.

Example:

Drag your feet

- To lengthen the time or duration; to have it longer than expected, usually because the person is unmotivated or uninterested.
Example: Bryan always drags his feet over waking up early for school.

Example:

Draw the line

- To set a limit with work or initiatives; not going over the limit.
Example: Drinking too much booze can get you into serious trouble. You should know when to draw the line.

Example:

Dress to kill

- To dress elegantly or stylishly; to dress with a taste of sophistication.
Example: Joshua is dressed to kill tonight.
