You’ll earn up to 17 credits per semester studying at the Institut de Langue et de Culture Françaises (ILCF), a department of the Catholic University of Paris. Courses are taught in English and French, with no previous French language study required. While abroad in Paris, make a positive impact on the local community through volunteer work! AIFS Abroad can help arrange opportunities with charities and organizations such as Les Restos du Coeur, which distributes food and hot meals to homeless people; Emmaüs, which provides literacy programs and leisure activities for disadvantaged children; and Secours Populaire, a charity that provides access to health facilities, education, and food for the needy. Atelier Neo Medici invites students and professional painters to the Aquitaine region of France for a two-month intensive painting workshop. The "Technique Mixte" Painting Workshop teaches an approach to painting known as the technique mixte, which has its antecedents with the early Northern masters. This technique employs a tempera underpainting over which oil colors are glazed, enabling the artist to achieve a profoundly intricate level of detail and greater luminosity of color than oil paint alone can produce.
