In Nice, you will live in a modern student apartment, in the beautiful Old Port neighborhood, in the very heart of town. Every student chooses two classes as their academic focus: a major and an elective. The French major class meets every morning Monday to Friday while electives meet three afternoons a week. Electives include French Conversation, Photography, Sports, and Studio Art. Abbey Road provides three meals a day of high-quality food through a variety of venues. We often cook together using traditional French recipes. On some nights we go out for group dinners. In any case, our students eat authentic, quality food, as opposed to fast food or tourist meals. Our teaching method emphasizes active, hands-on learning, cultural and language immersion. Most of our French classes include interacting with locals, practicing French, and small group French conversation workshops. The program also offers a great variety of cultural, educational, athletic, and travel activities. You will visit some of the most beautiful destinations on the French Riviera: St. Jean, Beaulieu, Monaco, Eze, Antibes, Cannes, and many others.

Immerse yourself in the French language and culture with GlobalEd's program in Lyon, France. Designed for learners at all levels, from beginners to advanced speakers, this intensive program focuses on enhancing your proficiency in vocabulary, grammar, verb usage, and both written and spoken communication. Beyond the classroom, weekly activities and local excursions allow you to explore the rich history and vibrant culture of Lyon, deepening your understanding of France’s unique heritage. Participants can also earn three to six transferable credits, making this program a valuable addition to your academic journey.

This program is designed for students taking a gap year and looking to spend it learning French while experiencing life in Paris. It’s perfect for those who want to fully immerse themselves in French language and culture—whether you’re planning a long-term stay in France, have a French partner, or simply wish to enjoy an unforgettable year in one of the world’s most iconic cities. It’s also ideal for students aiming to pursue higher education in France. The program is structured to help you reach a B2 level in French—the minimum language requirement for admission into most French universities. At the end of the course, you’ll have the opportunity to take the official DELF exam. With 15 hours of French classes per week, the program offers the flexibility to balance your studies with part-time work. As an international student in France, you're allowed to work up to 964 hours per year (approximately 20 hours per week), giving you the chance to gain valuable experience while supporting your stay.
