Volunteer Programs in Buea, Cameroon

African Conservation Foundation's tree planting and reforestation program is designed to support agroforestry goals of improving livelihoods and restoring degraded land through tree growing and planting in western Cameroon. The program allows international participants to gain firsthand experience in agroforestry, tree planting, and reforestation in the Western Cameroon Highlands. The program brings together international volunteers regularly to construct nurseries, both with schools and communities, transplant trees to degraded forest sites, and train communities on agroforestry techniques. Some of the activities are season-oriented as they depend on the rain. No specific qualifications are necessary, just a positive attitude and motivation to help schools and communities with the sustainable development of tree nursery-based economic and environmental initiatives.
