MEF World was established in Japan over 20 years ago and expanded to China a few of years ago. We offer one of the best training systems, along with full teacher support and a full line of educational resources for teachers to use. Most importantly, we bridge the culture gap so that teachers have the best ESL teaching experience in China. Most of our teachers work full time in kindergarten schools, with better working hours than they can receive in language schools. They also have our cultural support, which stops them from needing to work late or beyond the normal hours expected while working for a Chinese company directly. Almost all of the teachers that have joined the program say that China is an amazing experience but it is also a country of immense cultural differences and there are challenges which MEF World is the leader in supporting teachers for the smoothest transition possible.

In China, education holds high value, evident from the 91% literacy rate and intense competition for university admission, with over 11 million students enrolled in 1,500 colleges and universities. English-language education has gained significance over the past 25 years, leading to a growing demand for native English teachers. While English becomes mandatory in junior and senior middle school, it's optional in primary school. China follows a nine-year compulsory schooling system, with higher education available to those who pass compulsory level examinations. The academic year comprises two semesters, starting in September and ending in June, with a winter vacation around the Lunar New Year. School schedules differ from those in the U.S., with students attending public school five days a week for about 8.5 hours per day, often supplemented by additional courses in the evenings and weekends. We're looking for qualified Native-English speakers to teach! if you are: A bachelor's degree-holder. 1 year teaching experience. TESL/CELTA certificate (at least 40 hours and ideally 100 hours). We're now accepting applications for schoolyear 2024, apply now!
