An amazing experience!
February 06, 2019by: Anna M - SwedenI had such a great time volunteering with lions research in Victoria Falls. The staff and crew were so nice and friendly and they all made my time in Zimbabwe so fun. The housing and the food was good, and just being so close to the wildlife and the amazing falls was truly an amazing experience!
Great time
February 19, 2019by: Tatiana Pereira - SwitzerlandProgram: Wildlife Conservation, Antelope Park
I had such a great time in AP. Walking and taking care of the lions and elephants were absolutely amazing. Then, the excursions / extra activities were too expensive. Furthermore, the fact that we have to pay for the WiFi is unacceptable and even more when you have to pay 20$ per week. The food was good! The people was very nice and hardworking.
Something you have to do at least once in a lifetime !
February 20, 2019by: Marina Allaerts - BelgiumI had a wonderfull time. I came for 4 weeks, the first time in 2016. It was a great experience so I decided to come back again in 2017 for another month and also in 2018 for a month. My flights are booked already for 2019. The research on the lions and the work with the handlers and the enclosure lions is great fun. I can recommend everybody to book this volunteering. The teaching in the different schools is a an expereince on its own and the kids club on Saturday great fun and very much appreciated by the children. On Sundays there is the opportunity to visit the national park or just relax.

What inspired you to travel abroad?
I was inspired by my first-hand experience on the project and wanting to share my experience with others. I enjoy helping others discover what an incredible place Antelope Park and the other projects we run are—the mental health benefits include being able to escape from the stresses of normal life. I enjoy being able to help others enjoy Africa and all the beautiful things it has to offer.

What inspired you to travel abroad?
I moved back to the UK and stopped working in international travel for a brief period. An opportunity came up to work part-time with Volunteer Encounter which keeps me connected to the continent of Africa, my biggest passion.

I previously volunteered in schools in Ghana and India though GirlGuiding Uk in 2017 and 2018 which really created my love of traveling. I loved volunteering but wanted to do something completely different for my gap year from working. Luckily I found the perfect project at Antelope Park, Zimbabwe.
