Turn your passion for photography into an unforgettable African adventure at Antelope Park, Zimbabwe. This unique project combines wildlife, conservation and photography, giving you the opportunity to capture incredible images while experiencing life on a private game reserve.
Spend your time photographing Zimbabwe’s wildlife and landscapes, from majestic elephants and lions to antelope, zebras, giraffes and a huge variety of birdlife. You’ll have the chance to get out into the reserve, experience wildlife up close and develop your photography skills in a truly inspiring environment.
The project is ideal for photographers of all experience levels, whether you’re looking to build your portfolio, improve your technical skills or simply capture amazing moments in the African bush. Alongside photography, you’ll gain insight into wildlife conservation and the day-to-day running of a game reserve. You’ll also have the opportunity to get involved in other activities at Antelope Park, giving you a well-rounded African experience.

Do I need to be an experienced photographer?
No. The project is suitable for photographers with a range of experience levels, from keen beginners to more experienced photographers. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills while photographing wildlife and life at Antelope Park.
What will I be photographing?
You’ll have the chance to photograph wildlife, landscapes, horses, people and everyday life at Antelope Park. The variety of subjects means there are plenty of opportunities to build a diverse portfolio.
Will I get to photograph wildlife up close?
The project offers opportunities to photograph wildlife in a natural setting, with activities planned around the animals and the current programme. Wildlife encounters can vary, so sightings and specific photographic opportunities cannot be guaranteed.
What camera equipment should I bring?
A DSLR or mirrorless camera with a suitable zoom or telephoto lens is recommended. You should also bring spare batteries, memory cards and any other photography equipment you normally use. If you’re unsure what to pack, the Volunteer Encounter team can help.
Can I use my photographs for my portfolio or social media?
Yes. The project is a great opportunity to build your photography portfolio and capture images of your experience. You’ll also learn more about wildlife photography and working in an active conservation environment.
