The corse was amazing. I have been teaching for a couple years now on the level 3 cert and i was looking for a refresher and i for sure found that and a lot more within the Level 5 course. I didn't expect the level of information that i was going to learn.

I really enjoyed doing this course, it gave me a deeper understanding of English learning and simply learning languages in general. Even though I've studied English as a 1st addition language at school from age 7 to 18, I was still able to learn new information concerning the language. Even if you don't decide to pursue a career in teaching English it still gives you the chance to learn how to work with different people and how to adapt work to a specific skill group.

TTA has a great staff; they are very kind, helpful, prompt, and professional. The contents and the layouts of LEVEL 5 have been technically designed well, easy to navigate, in addition to the students' support/tutor team that are always there to promptly respond. That said, the job support was fairly basic—they provide a job board and CV templates but don’t place you directly, so you still need to apply on your own. A couple of the videos also looked a bit long,though the information itself was still relevant. For the price, it’s worth it if you want a recognized certificate to teach abroad or online.

This level 5 TEFL Course took me just under 2 years, because due to not being well throughout it, it was a struggle at times but the staff are extremely helpful and understanding, very efficient in responding to any enquiries along with professionalism. Unless you have a teaching degree and or experience then be ready for a steep climb. It's achievable, I'm 63 and no teaching qualifications but it's not easy. Everything, from course content to quick responses and very helpful feedback on assignments, was spot on and very much appreciated. The only complaint I have is the testing - most of it was easy enough to understand (although in the US we never use the word 'learnt' - that took some getting used to! Several questions seemed to have no relation to anything I had learned - for example, on one of the questions on the Unit 10 test I was completely lost. And I'm sure you know which one it was. What grammar is this phrase, and this phrase and this phrase??? I couldn't find it in my notes, took way too much time trying to figure it out and in the end just guessed, which I hate to do. But that was a small part of the classes thank goodness. I do want to thank my evaluators. They gave examples, and feedback that thoroughly explained what was expected (because especially on the first written assignment I was in the dark as to what TEFL actually wanted). But my expectations were more than met with the online Level 5 TEFL Course. I strongly recommend this course if you want to get your TEFL certificate (or, in general, if you want a better understanding of what ESL teaching means).

It was good, but thin on grammar. Plus any aspiring teacher needs to prepare a little more before taking the little leap into the classroom. This means practicing a lesson (even a short lesson) with someone who can give feedback and/or demonstrate to you how to actually perform a lesson. Simply completing the TEFL certificate does not fully prepare an for aspiring teacher for a real life class room. I think the TTA could/should take this into consideration and perhaps offer resources to complete this last step, which IMO is vital for real-world teaching-in-the-classroom success. They should also provide resources for learning grammar properly. The British Council is a good resource for that. ... I think, overall, the course is very good and well-structured. There is a bit too much 'fluff' IMO; it could be a little leaner. The wokey stuff at the end about asking the students to set the rules for the classroom is, well, wokey (and ubsurd), so TTA could remove that part. ... Oh, I should also mention that the 'tutors' that provide feedback for the assignments, they really go to trouble to provide excellent (relevant and detailed) feedback, so I'm very appreciative of their efforts. Technically, the site works well. ... Overall, I think it's a bit too long, but it's generally good quality material and I did learn a few things. And there are the aforementioned aspects (grammar and classroom practice) that are too light or missing in the course. Thank you.

Finished the TEFL level 5 course. Hoping to get a role overseas soon. The first stepping stone for a new career. The course is easy to understand and complete. Do not need to be an expert in grammar but as a refresh course in basic grammar.

I have learnt a lot about different teaching styles and the reason why these styles are better than the common ones. An eye-opener for me was the focus on eliciting was during the lessons. This is something I use now during all my lessons. Also, the pre-vocabulary teaching is now a fixed part of my lesson plans.

The work that's covered in the course is based on real lessons and gives a good preview of what teaching EFL would be like. From the enrollment stage, the admin and Tutor Support was great throughout. The assignments were overwhelming but wonderful to complete and pass. I would change 1 thing at registration, every student needs printed proof of their enrollment in any course. I had to pay for this proof which should have been worked into the fees.

The units are very interactive, and they kept me engaged throughout. Moreover, the best part is the tutor support. When I started the course, I was so nervous to learn on my own at my own pace without a tutor. But the experience was worthwhile and a very smooth and enjoyable journey. I never really appreciated the depth of English as a language but throughout the course I learnt there is a lot to learn about English and quite more. The course has clear instructions and allows student to ask for help which one gets easily. It equips students with knowledge to enter a classroom as a first-time teacher and know and where how to start and plan a lesson where non is provided. The information and templates provided after the course for job searches are excellent tools to use even as a first-time teacher. This course is a must do and tailor made for anyone with a teaching passion. When I turned in my first assignment, I was so nervous, and especially when I was given feedback. I couldn't quite figure out how to view the feedback, so I asked for help and was assisted. I then realized I had not followed some instruction when submitting my assignment and I really needed to read and follow through all the instructions. This helped me in submitting the remaining assignments the correct way.

I did the TEFL couse from April to June 2025. Overall, the course gave me a comprehensive introduction into teaching English as a foreign language, and other aspects such as the four key skills, classroom management and other important aspects. You could interact with other learners in forums as you were learning, as well as get feedback from TEFL instructors when you submit an assignment which I found very valuable. Certain parts felt a bit dragged out with long-winded explanations, but overall the course gave me a great overview of TEFL, and prepared me for ESL teaching.

There are three exams during this course that help prepare one to think about and create a lesson plan, and after each exam I received detailed and personalized feedback from the grader - not just a simple pass/fail but these graders actually read my work and gave helpful comments! There are many (many!) job sites referenced at the end of the course, and while I would have liked more personalized engagement to help with identifying a job after course completion, I feel the tools provided are more than sufficient to help me find placement on my own. I took this course while pursuing a full time degree so that I could work part time while I study. I found this course to be easy to manage while studying and had great support from the academy. This course is laid out really well and is easy to manage through the course work. The content is easy to absorb and easy to work through. The markers give good feedback on assignments and are very helpful. I did struggle with the time limit of the course but I am a full-time student so that was a factor. It's harder than I expected it would be - especially as a native English speaker and journalist - but I like that it was challenging. I am excited to begin my teaching journey and this course was an excellent starting point. As a New Zealander, my only disappointment is that although I'm highly experienced and qualified in my journalism/communications career, I don't have a university degree, so that limits where I can apply for jobs.

I did the online level 5 TEFL course and it was excellent. Lots of detailed and practical modules which built up your knowledge. No need for any pre existing knowledge or teaching experience. Lots of real life examples given and helpful materials to use in future. There were 3 assignments which were very thorough, marked by humans, and were challenging. Detailed, helpful feedback was provided. I feel they really tested my ability to prepare and deliver a real lesson. Excellent course overall. Thoroughly recommend

What an experience. Having completed the 168-hour Level 5 TEFL course was an enriching experience. The way in which the course is structured ensures that scaffolding and good building blocks are maintained and results achieved. The content is to the point and very applicable even to the normal classroom setting. The assignments are demanding and test every aspect of application learnt in the course. This is certainly a worthwhile structured course to do and extremely satisfying in terms of honing my teaching and tutoring skills.

I really enjoyed doing the tefl course and I would recommend it. It's very well planned, explained and organised. Super comprehensive! It's fantastic to be able to do it online at your own pace having support very quick to help you if you need it. Also, at the end it has a lot of websites where to apply for jobs as well as templates and advice to do your resume and cover letter. Definitely super worth it!

I found the TEFL Level 5 online course very much helpful. The lesson units and webinars are all conducive to the ultimate goal which is to teach English as a Foreign Language. Can a person ever be sure of what awaits them when entering a teaching and application course, especially if it's online? I must say I was pleasantly surprised at the standard of curriculum content as well as the scaffolding of the course as I progressed through the sections. Having taught for many years and being the headmaster of a school, I was always inspecting curriculum and assessing application as I worked to mesh teaching methodology and curriculum together to create a blend that could be suitable for the learners. This is where I must praise the TEFL programme. It's well-balanced and specific to the market/student it's aimed at, allowing the individual to apply the course content to prior knowledge and then to see how it can be practically used in the school/market/field. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and can wholeheartedly say that it was more than sufficient to prepare me for the online class and language-based lessons I'm wanting to deliver. As I completed each unit, I realized how broad the English language really is. The TTA Level 5 course was a well put together, concise, and engaging course for someone looking to get into teaching ESL. The material covered all the relevant topics of teaching, and I received detailed and specific feedback for the assignments I submitted. Also very reasonably priced.

If you have extra time on your hands, I highly recommend you enroll in a TTA course. You will be able to study at your own pace, but you won't feel alone on your journey. The teachers will give you accurate feedback and advice on how to get better, and you can also read other students' opinions and ideas on each unit. In less than 2 months, I completed the course and received the hard copy of my licence directly from the UK. I think it's a worthy investment for your future I am overall satisfied with the quality of this course.

The content was interesting and for the most part, engaging. I really liked the amount of resources provided in this course and online links to relevant content (these were very helpful). The assignments were challenging but not impossible and I think provide a good foundation for teaching. The only thing I wish was different, is that I would have liked for the resources from the course to be available (accessible) forever, instead of only 6 months.

When I was retrenched and forced into early retirement recently, I was still too young to sit leisurely at home. I have had a plan to become a TEFL teacher for quite a while and this was my opportunity to start a new career - at 59! I enrolled in the Level 5 course and the encouragement and support I got was amazing. Previous online courses I did with other institutions proved quite lonely, support was slow and mediocre and overall difficult to complete. TEFL Academy guided me through the easier, and the tougher lessons of the course. The few times I needed support, response was quick, clear and solved the problem. The feedback from the markers of the assignments is golden. It's good that you don't simply pass or fail an assignment, you get comprehensive feedback on your strengths and weaknesses. You know what to work on. In closing I enjoyed the course very much, and I will certainly do some follow-up courses.

This course was excellent. I loved it. I had a really fun experience. There was great assistance provided as well as lots of guidance. The activities were really easy to understand. Whenever I had a problem, I would get assistance and feedback really quickly.

Found the program to be well structured and thorough! One area I believe could be improved is the CV and cover letter template provided after the course. The structure feels a bit disorganized, and the content reads as if the course is still ongoing rather than completed.

The level 5 TEFL course is a well thought out approach to online learning. I liked the quick response to my queries and questions via the student portal. Once submitted, I found the time taken to mark the assignments was quick, with the feedback encouraging and useful, making me feel supported throughout the course. I also liked the balance of self learning/marked assignments and being able to learn at my own pace. That said, I was mindful of the 6 month deadline, so if I had to choose a downside, it would be that perhaps TEFL could allow longer to complete the course and increase this time allowance, as I occasionally found it tricky to balance my home, work and personal life in order to make time. I really enjoyed the course, and would recommend this method of online learning in order to become a fantastic (or better) EFL teacher.

The content was easy to understand and designed with students in mind, the luxury of having multiple attempts to complete a test was an ode to ensuring that I am confident in the material I was learning, and that it was not "just" a memory test.
