Turtle Conservation
About Turtle Conservation
Projeto Biodiversidade (Project Biodiversity) is a nonprofit organization based in Cape Verde. Our team aims to contribute to the restoration and preservation of natural habitats in the island of Sal, increase sustainable exploitation of natural resources, and contribute to scientific knowledge of the island through the implementation of environmental programs.
One of our key programs is the Turtle Conservation Program, wherein our organization assumes the responsibility of keeping threatened marine turtles safe from extinction. Being one of Cape Verde’s emblems, we encourage community involvement in the protection of marine turtles. We also strive to broaden the scope of our activities to areas like the conservation of autochthon wildlife species as well as terrestrial, coastal and marine ecosystems. We wish to create programs that contribute to the unity of Cape Verde’s society and nature, leading to positive impact to the island’s economy and environment.
