Silk Mandarin - Language Training Institute

Silk Mandarin was highly recommended to me by a colleague and it has not disappointed. Yanqin is an extremely professional teacher who is diligent and facilitated excellent 1-on-1 online classes. The course content was fresh and very relevant for my career. Yanqin provided notes and recommendations after every class, making it easier for me to stay on track.

I had a very positive experience with Silk Mandarin. Before starting, my Chinese was already at an intermediate level, but I felt stuck, especially with speaking and preparing for HSK 6. I live in Shanghai so no need to ask for any other accomodation. I first joined a group class, then switched to one-to-one lessons, which worked much better for me. The school was very flexible and adapted the course to my needs. The lessons are well structured but also very practical and focused on real communication. My teacher (Catherine 🫶) was professional, patient, and always ready to explain things clearly. Overall, I would definitely recommend Silk Mandarin to anyone who wants a more personalized and effective way to improve their Chinese.

I've been struggling for a while to study Chinese - never really found anything that worked for me. I found Silk Mandarin beginning of this year and I have only been studying a month or so, but I feel excited to study now! My pronunciation and my tones were very poor and my teacher has been so patient and she has the most interesting ways to explain, so I can understand.
