SLS TEFL Training in Pattaya, Thailand: With Housing Option

Not just a review of what I already knew. A lot of stuff that I didn't know. Hands on experience was invaluable. Awesome. Also, they do a lot to help you find a job. And a side benefit is it's one of the better places in Pattaya to learn Thai as well

During the TEFL course, I learned many valuable and practical teaching strategies that have greatly supported my teaching career. The TEFL program at SLS not only helped me become a better teacher but also broadened my horizons. I had the opportunity to meet many wonderful people during the course, and I made a lot of friends whom I am still in touch with today. The owners of SLS are also very supportive and continue to stay in contact with us even after the course, which makes the experience even more meaningful.

I had a great time under the guidance of a qualified teacher having years of experience in both UK & Thailand. The course material was good & the hands on experience at a local school was both enjoyable & invaluable. I was sad to leave the course!

Although I haven't yet done the course I have met the team in SLS Pattaya. I was kindly allowed to participate in a course for the afternoon. This was a very helpful experience for me to get a feeling of what would be expected of me when I am ready to do the course in 2024. As I thought that I was ready to do the course in 2023, Paul Lambert who runs the employment research part of the school was really generous with his time. Paul is passionate about finding the right teaching job to suit a teacher's particular skills. As I have degrees in fine art Paul recommended me to serval school for several very schools who had art teaching vacancies. I have no doubt that, when I am ready to live and work in Thailand, I will sign up to the SLS teacher training programe in Pattaya.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at SLS. It has opened up many pathways for the future. I firmly believe I made the right choice in choosing to study TEFL at SLS. I left everything behind in the United Kingdom to come and study this course and I am so grateful that I made the decision.

Cillian, the course instructor, led a very informative TEFL course. He demonstrated unbiased professionalism throughout the program, calling upon a lifetime of experience as a teacher to reinforce his curriculum. In addition to the 120 hours of instruction on theory, the course consists of 6 hours of practical application in Thai classrooms which in my opinion sets an in-person course ahead of any online option. I personally have over a decade of teaching experience in the military, primary, and secondary schools; TEFL provides a great foundation for teaching English as a second language that even experienced teachers do not have. The support staff at SLS was phenomenal in helping students achieve various goals such as obtaining TOEIC (for NNES) or learning the Thai language. The program also assists students in obtaining employment as a teacher, which resulted in half a dozen offers being extended to me before the completion of the program. The program is a phenomenal investment in your professional skillset that will set you apart from the competition.

Embarking on this course with SLS has been one of my best decisions this year not only because it is beneficial to an educational career path but also because the environment allowed me to grow, make some good friends and i had so much fun! All the staff are very helpful and attentive always and are very friendly! Cillian, the course instructor was thorough in his teaching and he gave us some good advice and guidance which was nice. Maam also gave us some complimentary Thai languages lessons and even though i struggle to learn new languages, she made it exciting and easy to understand. Safe to say i know a little bit of Thai now haha. SLS has the best team and i recommend them for their TEFLE course! Its not a boring course, its a fulfilling experience! Also, they helped me find secure accommodation which is close to the school and i must say its comfortable, very clean and neat! They gave me cutlery which was placed in the room before i arrived and if i needed any help, they were always available. Thank you SLS!

Although 2020 has been a very shaky year with the Covid pandemic, the SLS 120 hour/4 week TEFL course was akin to finding a jewel you didn't expect. I researched a half-dozen TEFL/CELTA providers in the Bangkok/Pattaya corridor. What attracted to me the SLS TEFL course was that despite the pandemic, the course was being taught in person with a full teaching practicum ... and NOT on-line. At the invitation of Cillian Hayes (TEFL Instructor), I attended one of his lessons and observed several candidates conducting lessons the prior month to my start date. I began the course several weeks my visit and found the SLS family atmosphere, instructional content and wide-ranging teaching practicum to varied student lots invaluable. The follow-up support from resume guidance to job placement advice/assistance was also a nice touch. I'd encourage anyone in Pattaya and vicinity to enroll at a SLS course as it's been a very meaningful experience.

Taking the TEFL course at SLS with our instructor Cillian was very useful in different aspects: I feel prepared and more confident about teaching, it gave me a clear idea of what is expected from an English teacher, I ended up with several teaching resources with a whole methodology for teaching English and not to mention the great experience of being supervised in real environments. I think that if you want to be an English teacher in Thailand, it is the best step you can take. You can expect from Cillian and the SLS team to be professional and genuinely interested in your development so that you get good job opportunities.

As with all things in life, there's the good, the bad, and the reasonable. But once in a while you come across something very special, and that's exactly what happened when I came across SLS Training Centre in Pattaya. They offer a 120 hour TEFL course, that's extremely well structured, and gives you the ability, knowledge and confidence to become a great teacher. Their instructor, Cillian Hayes, is brilliant at his job, and he can readily draw on more than 25 years of practical teaching experience in the UK. From the very first moment you step inside the door, his warm and friendly personality will allay any nervousness or doubts you may have. He delivers the course at a pace that suits all individuals, and explains the concepts of teaching in a way that's very easy to understand. At SLS, the emphasis is on teaching practice, with up to 8 hours of real-time reaching in a classroom environment, plus peer observation of fellow teachers. Cillian assesses each trainee individually, and methodically reviews the lesson, highlighting the areas that need improvement, but duly rewarding the trainees where they do well. All in all, I consider it to be an exceptionally good course, delivered by an excellent instructor, in an environment that's relaxed and friendly.

With the vast amount of TEFL courses available in Thailand, I opted for ‘Salisa Language School’ a smaller independent school in the heart of Pattaya. I had already visited several schools within the Bangkok and Pattaya areas and I was still undecided and somewhat confused about which TEFL course to undertake. After an impromptu visit to the school, I was introduced to Cillian Hayes (The lead TEFL Instructor). Cillian was warm and friendly throughout our brief conversation, he explained the course outline and the differences between other teaching accreditations available. Unexpectedly I was invited to partake in a lesson and meet fellow students who were already studying for the 120 Hour TEFL Certificate. This was the only school I visited where I received this level of openness and transparency. After a brief period in the classroom and chatting with the other students, it was clear that choosing SLS as a training school would be the right decision. The course content was clear and well-structured throughout the package. Furthermore, the pace of the course was adequate for all students involved. The handouts that were provided were concise and relevant to the lesson topics that we covered. Moreover, feedback and direction from Cillian along with other teachers working at the school was always on hand, along with a varied selection of lesson plans and literature to help students get the maximum benefit from the course. After successfully completing the 120 hour TEFL course I returned back to my native country of England, where I spent the next six months completing the terms of my then current employment contract. Upon my return to Thailand, I visited ‘SLS’ and enquired about any potential job vacancies in the Bangkok/Pattaya areas. As always the staff were warm and friendly, instantly remembering my name and offering advice on vacant jobs. Cillian contacted the HR team of one such school on my behalf further cementing the fact that ‘SLS’ goes beyond what is expected of a language school. A few days later and after a brief interview at Satit Udomseuksa School (Pattaya) I was offered an English teaching position which I gladly accepted. Choosing a TEFL course in Thailand is easy! Choosing the right TEFL course, now that's a different matter. SLS has provided me with the guidance and knowledge to become an effective English Teacher, just as beneficial to the TEFL certificate is SLS’s ‘open door policy’ that they offer to all of their student's. I would thoroughly recommend anybody wishing to partake in a TEFL course to seriously consider Salisa Language School.

Great location, first class teaching facilities, probably the best TEFL instructor in Thailand and wonderful practical teaching experience. Im now a confident and professional TEFL teacher. Thank you SLS!
