Their courses are top quality and come with really detailed lesson plan examples, practical advice on managing behaviour, and loads of great resources for teachers. I would absolutely recommend this institute to anyone considering becoming an English teacher.

I put a lot of time into looking into TEFL courses, and it was surprising how many of the well known ones had awful reviews. I really started to think I would just have to pick the least bad option. A few of the big, heavily promoted places did not even bother replying to me either. When I was basically ready to stop looking, I came across the TEFL Institute in Ireland, and from the start they were so helpful, and the course itself was genuinely informative. Even though I have been teaching in a classroom with a local agency and also online for years, I still picked up plenty of practical tips, techniques, and useful information that I am going to use now. Huge thanks to Walter for being consistently there, phoning me at the beginning and supporting me whenever I needed anything. If you want a reasonably priced TEFL course that actually teaches you a lot, go with TEFL Institute of Ireland. It will save you a ton of wasted time searching.

I am doing the 180 hour Level 5 TEFL course with the TEFL Institute of Ireland at the moment. Everything is laid out really clearly and the materials are top quality. They also include details on job opportunities, along with personal reflections from people already working with this qualification. Whenever I have needed support, the course administrators have been so helpful and their advice has been great. I would definitely recommend the TEFL Institute of Ireland to anyone thinking about qualifying in TEFL.

I joined the webinar about working in Italy run by Jessica and Walter, and I came away with plenty of helpful details I would not have known without it. In general, the TEFL Institute of Ireland has continued to be really supportive, even once I had completed the courses.

I chose the 180 hour TEFL course in the first place for two reasons: the cost and the standard of what was on offer. Now that I have finished it, I can honestly say it felt well worth what I paid. The course itself goes into a huge amount of detail and it does not miss much, taking you through everything involved in teaching English, from writing and grammar right through to pronunciation. The modules stay interesting too because you are not stuck with one format. It mixes audio, video and written content, which helps you stay focused and keep your momentum. Each module finished with an assessment that combined multiple choice with open ended questions. That part really helped the content sink in and it pushed me to read a bit more around the topics that had been covered. On the support side of things, I have to say Tefl Ireland were great. It is easy to get in touch through the web chat or by calling, and I never felt like I was waiting long. They were always willing to talk through anything I asked about, whether it was the assessments, the deadlines or the course content. If you are looking for a properly recognized TEFL course without paying a fortune, this is the one I would pick. It also looks like they offer strong support afterwards for finding work online and overseas, with articles, webinars and job alerts.

Since I was asked to leave a review and to acknowledge the people who helped along the way, this is how I would sum up my time completing the Level 5 course (180h). I actually had limited contact with the TEFL Team because I mostly kept to myself and worked through the material independently. That said, on the occasions I did reach out, the exchanges were polite and professional (Ola, Rachel, Jacob). Rachel, as the assigned Tutor, replied to my emails promptly and in a warm tone, and Lucy, my assessor, had obviously gone through my tests properly and returned them with multiple written notes and suggestions. As for the course content, I think it points to quite a few external resources, and those were genuinely useful and worth exploring. For anyone who is curious and open minded, a lot of what is included can be thought provoking. The drawback for me, from a teaching and learning perspective, is that the 11 Modules do not follow a uniform structure, a good portion of the audio repeats information unnecessarily, and the classroom videos with role plays acted out by TEFL staff are aimed at a level that feels far too basic. I also noticed errors in the written content of some modules. On the testing side, the word count restriction was often so tight that it discouraged giving a full answer, and I was left unsure how strictly that limit factored into marking. Is staying brief really supposed to be a key measure of performance, even above the substance of the response? Toward the end of my course, TEFL removed that cap, yet it still appeared during the reassessment stage. More broadly, I still do not have a clear picture of what standards were being used to judge whether a student can actually teach English. For instance, I would have expected diction and overall spoken communication to matter in that regard, but nothing tested those elements. Finally, a few test questions were worded in ways that were ambiguous or just difficult to interpret. If the TEFL institute would like more detailed feedback or practical suggestions, I would be willing to share them. PS. I also find the cost of the digital certificate extremely high. I do not understand why COVID19 would prevent a hardcopy certificate from being mailed.

I have just finished the "30 Hours Teaching Business English" course with The TEFL Institute Ireland and I honestly could not recommend it more. The study materials were packed with useful information, the customer service was excellent, and the team always got back to me quickly. 100% worth it!

I am so pleased to say I have finished and passed the Level 5 Diploma. The way each module ended with a quiz really worked for me, as it helped me see exactly how much I had taken in. I did find the assessments, especially the last one, to be quite challenging. All the way through, it was reassuring to know that help was always available, and any time I asked something, I received a reply very quickly. A big thank you to Rachel and Shauna. I also thought the live Zoom class on Tuesdays was really useful whenever I needed the extra support. Overall, it was a very positive experience and I would definitely recommend The TEFL Institute.

Choosing to start a TEFL course and volunteer teaching in Thailand ended up being a real milestone for me. Once I decided, I spent ages online trying to track down the right provider because I wanted something that truly suited me. That search led me to the TEFL Institute of Ireland, and since then I have been on what feels like an amazing path. I genuinely believe I will be there soon, ready to finally begin my teaching career. I am sure it is going to be a positive shift in my life. The institute is responsible, and the courses are really engaging, practical, and useful. Everyone has been so supportive, especially Leo and of course Emma. The courses go into a lot of depth and they are definitely not a breeze to get through, yet the study content is top quality and comes with loads of suggested additional reading. Whenever I hit a wall, the online support was brilliant, replies came back quickly and the people answering were genuinely lovely. If you want a job that gives you more personal time, or the option to see the world, teaching English as a foreign language is a great way to do it, and the TEFL Institute of Ireland is the place to train.

I have just finished my TEFL Diploma with The TEFL Institute and I honestly cannot thank the team enough for everything they did for me. I have just finished the 120 hour TEFL course and I am absolutely delighted with it. Everything in the online course was clear and straightforward, laid out in a way that made sense, and each part was covered in plenty of detail. The TEFL Institute staff were so friendly and supportive, and they always took the time to respond to every question I had. I will 100 percent be returning to the TEFL Institute when I decide to study more.

I cannot recommend The TEFL Institute of Ireland enough. What sets them apart for me is the standard of their training and the choice of courses on offer. I did the 120 Advanced Qualification and it was really thorough, still doable, and genuinely worth it. Brilliant value for what you get, and I would definitely recommend them.

If you are an aspiring teacher looking to get better in the classroom and genuinely wanting to pick up fresh ways to teach English as a foreign language, I would absolutely suggest giving the 10 hour TEFL Classroom Methodologies Course a go. It made a big difference to my confidence, and Kate shared so many practical tips and clear strategies for planning lessons and then delivering them in a way that keeps students involved. Although it ran online, it never felt distant. It was hands on and interactive, and it was great being able to try out the new techniques and skills as we learned them. I used to feel unsure about how to tackle certain parts of English, grammar in particular, but this course really helped me get past that. I honestly cannot recommend the TEFL institute enough, especially Kate, who did far more than I expected to support me. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
