Teaching and Youth Development Internship in the Philippines
by: Roots Interns
Help impoverished communities in Tacloban City by helping to plan, coordinate, and lead educational courses and clubs for children. You'll build close relationships with children and learn to plan lessons and teaching styles to their individual needs. This program places you with a multi-dimensional education nonprofit dedicated to combating poverty through education. From their own study center and children’s park, they provide a range of programs designed to support not academic development, but personal and professional development too. Your role will have you working closely with children as you tutor children in one to one sessions, helping with homework and test preparation, and lead small classes and group sessions. As you get to know them on a personal level, you’ll come to be more involved with planning lessons and tailoring them to individual needs.
