Law & Human Rights Volunteering | Legal Advocacy

Law is rarely most powerful in a courtroom. Sometimes, it begins in a community office, a women’s group, a family dispute or a conversation with someone who has never been told what their rights are. Based in Arusha, Tanzania, this placement offers law students, graduates and legal professionals an immersive introduction to legal advocacy, human rights and community-based justice. Participants work alongside Tanzanian organisations and communities affected by issues including gender-based violence, family conflict, inheritance disputes, child protection, early marriage and unequal access to legal support.
