Beyond Academy

My internship in Tokyo has been the best experience of my life so far and I thoroughly enjoyed every single moment. I graduated a few years back and after working 3 years in an accounting firm, I realised that was not for me and I was hoping to start a fresh chapter in my career. I was placed in a really cool tech start-up based in Shibuya. The internship was hard work and I definitely had a steep learning curve. Despite that it was only a 6-week placement, the company involved me in quite a few different projects and I’ve learnt so much. I’ve also made some fantastic contacts in the meetups that Beyond Academy arranged. The events kept me busy during my time in Tokyo and I honestly loved all of them! My highlight was definitely the trip to Mt Fuji. It was nice to get out of the city and take in the incredible nature Japan has to offer. I had such a great time living like a local, and have made some fantastic friends. Aya, our community manager, is literally the most amazing person - she went out of her way to make everyone feel welcome. I’ve loved our little izakaya dinners every 2 weeks and I’m going to miss everyone so much :( Tokyo is the most magical place, if you are thinking of interning there do not hesitate. I’m already planning my next trip to Japan and would love to hopefully move over soon! Thank you so much Beyond - you guys have honestly changed my life!

I had the most amazing 6 weeks in London. I spend a lot of time visiting the UK (my dad is British) but never in London, what an awesome city. I am planning to go back and work there. Honestly couldn't ask for more from the Beyond team. I interned in a really cool marketing agency in the Soho area. While there were only 5 other interns on the program at the same time as me we all got on very well and had a great time exploring the city. The community manager was super fun. She arranged several events every week and went above and beyond to make sure we all felt settled and were having the best experience. I just wish I had more time. Totally recommend interning in London and esp with Beyond Academy!

I loved my time living and working in London. I have always wanted to experience living there and I am so grateful for Beyond Academy making it such a special time. From the moment I arrived to the moment I left I felt part of something special. The team at Beyond were so friendly and fun and made sure we were always making the most of the city. I particularly enjoyed the workshop and the career coaching session. It helped me get perspective and lay out plans for how I want to launch my career. Overall my internship was great, I just wish I could stay longer as I was starting to get involved in some really exciting projects. But I guess I was quite lucky as I missed the lockdown by only a few weeks. If you are considering an internship in London, do it and you will certainly not regret it!
