Add first reviewVerifiedSince 2015

We invite volunteers and interns to support our SIMSAS Program (Strengthening Integrated Medical and Socio-economic Support) in Kisumu County, Western Kenya. The program supports HIV-affected women by linking healthcare access, psychosocial support, and economic empowerment activities. Volunteers engage with women in the program and help strengthen connections between health services and livelihood initiatives. Participants may assist with community health outreach, support health education discussions, and help document stories that highlight the experiences of women affected by HIV. Volunteers may also spend time in partnering hospitals and health facilities where many women receive care. Activities may include observing clinic operations, following up on clinic visits, attending Continuing Medical Education (CME) sessions with healthcare workers, and supporting community health talks. This opportunity is ideal for individuals interested in medicine, nursing, public health, counseling, or social work, including gap-year students seeking meaningful global health exposure while supporting women’s health and community wellbeing.
