Volunteer on the IVHQ Ramadan Program in Morocco
Support local communities during the holy month by helping provide food and care to people who need assistance, especially around iftar (the evening meal that breaks the fast). You will work at community centers that serve disadvantaged families and help ensure everyone has access to a healthy meal when the sun sets. Typical tasks include preparing food and meal packages, helping distribute meals at iftar, assisting community staff with logistics and hygiene, and welcoming families in a respectful and supportive way. Volunteers may also help organise simple children’s activities or community events in the evening to foster a sense of togetherness. This program is ideal for volunteers who are open-minded, culturally sensitive and willing to experience a different way of life. You do not need to be Muslim, but you should be ready to observe local customs respectfully during Ramadan. Kindness, flexibility, and a willingness to help under changing schedules are key qualities. Outside volunteer hours you can explore Moroccan culture, visit historic cities, meet locals, enjoy markets and cuisine, and reflect on the community connections you’ve made.

Life Changing Experience
July 18, 2014by: Saleetah786 - BradfordThis journey has changed my life forever. My dream has been accomplished as I always had the passion of volunteering abroad and working with the less fortunate people. It allowed me to gain an insight on the different culture and lifestyles people live. The experience allowed me to meet wonderful people from across the world all under one roof with the same goal. I enjoyed working with the children and completing charity work on the side of my work. I feel proud of what I have accomplished and would do it all over again. Thank you IVHQ and I would recommend others to also volunteer with IVHQ.
