Teaching English or French in Marrakech with IVHQ

Teach French language skills to children, teenagers, or adults who might otherwise lack access. French is considered the unofficial third language in Morocco, and this program helps learners develop an advantage.

• Lead or co-teach French lessons, supporting writing, speaking, and vocabulary skills.
• Create workshops, educational games, or group activities.
• Fluency in French is required, and knowing English opens up opportunities to assist English classes

The program offers set start dates twice each month and a flexible duration, making it suitable for a variety of schedules.

• Programs begin every first and third Monday of each month.
• Duration options range from 2 up to 24 weeks.
• The daily volunteer commitment is up to 5 hours a day.

You must meet age, language, and documentation criteria, and be prepared to teach a second language in an under-resourced setting.

• Volunteers must be at least 18 years old on the program start date; families are also eligible.
• You must be fluent in French to join this project; while English is also required for communication with the local team and other volunteers.
• Volunteers aged over 18 at the start date must provide a criminal background check

Your role involves teaching French, assisting learners and helping local teachers to deliver language education in community centers.

• Lead French lessons in speaking, reading, writing and vocabulary, or pair up with a co-volunteer or teacher
• Tasks include running small workshops, tutoring students and organizing educational games or activities
• If you know English, you may assist or switch between French and English classes depending on center needs

• Volunteers stay in a Moroccan homestay and receive full hosting, giving you a cultural immersion experience alongside your teaching placement.
• Accommodation is provided in cities such as Rabat, Casablanca, Sale, or Kenitra; rooms are shared with other same-gender volunteers, and meals are included.
• Orientation and in-country support are included
• Weekends and evenings are free for exploring Moroccan culture, cities, history, and surrounding regions.
