Based on a small private island near the coast, you will assist with diving surveys, collecting data, monitoring reef biodiversity and removing invasive species such as lionfish that threaten native marine life. Volunteers also support species identification, reef health assessments, beach and ocean debris removal and general tasks that keep conservation work running smoothly. Beautiful Belize

My daughter choose marine conservation in Belize as her chosen program and I was lucky enough to join her. The people of Belize are friendly, helpful and very safe. As well as scuba diving to spear fish the evasive lionfish, we also had an educational element each day which was great to learn the basis behind why we were doing what we were doing and also learning more about the local underwater environment. Even though we travelled onto America afterwards, my daughters favourite moments of our overseas trip was her time on the volunteer program in Belize.

Everything was very smooth and organized from start to finish. I felt safe from the time I was picked up to the end of my stay. All of the leaders in my program were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the work we were doing which made my experience all the more valuable. Through this program, I’ve made many new friends, and I feel more knowledgeable confident in my capabilities. Because of the affordability and quality of the program, I have nothing but good to say!
