Get TEFL Certified in the USA & Teach English Abroad

As a student in between semesters and working a summer job, this course was phenomenal. The course is so practical and informative, truly providing quality education. At no point did I feel like I was doing "busy work" that was wasting my money. Everyone on staff there is accommodating and accessible. Additionally, this program supplies you with copious resources in and outside the class itself.

This online course has been simply incredible. The content that you go through can take you from the complete unknown to having confidence in yourself and your abilities to teach English. The instructors are incredibly clued up and eager to help at all times. They make an already awesome experience so much better. I have really enjoyed each and every week of this course. I have felt like I have learned so much and developed as a person, all from the comfort of my own home. I have been involved in various other short courses and distance learning courses, but this one - by far - tops them all. What an awesome experience!

The material presented is very helpful for first time teachers. The work load requires more than just a couple hours a week. The different chapters covered were full of useful information to assist in creating lesson plans for our students. I felt confident after every assignment was completed.

Live you best life they say. I know my best life will be traveling to exotic, adventurous countries. To learn new cultures and make new friends. The best country out there for now is Uruguay. That's probably going to be my first step in living abroad. What's better then to give back to your home town? Then I really would like to go to New Zealand. I have never been but I have a friend that just moved there and everything looks so beautiful between water and mountains!!

This course gave me more than I thought it would. ITA is so well organized and the information they provide you is almost endless. Every person I interacted with at ITA exceeded my expectations. They usually got back to me within the same day. I feel prepared to go teach overseas and I would recommend ITA to anyone.

The ITA crew have done a wonderful job of becoming a well oiled machine. I have never had an experience with a group so large that has been as seem-less and well organized as this group. I was able to get in contact with a real person (Andrew Hines) in no time flat and he walked me through the whole process so quickly and efficiently. Once I finally enrolled I was given the most helpful manual for my job search and all the information I could need on finding jobs abroad it's incredible. Once I made it to the course I found a well laid out course with quick access to all the info I needed and it was a good deal of work within the course, but luckily I never felt overwhelmed even within my extremely busy schedule. If you have any interest in taking a TEFL certification course, do yourself a favor and choose ITA.

The TEFL course was perfect for me. I am a non-traditional student, and was encouraged every step of the way. I feel that I am prepared to teach English as a foreign language no matter where I decide to teach. I look forward to using my newfound knowledge.

When I started I didn't have any experience in teaching or whatsoever. Lesson planning, classroom management or grading an assignment were very new to me. Now, I can definitely say that I am less anxious about teaching a class of ESL students. All the tasks done, the reading and the video provided during the course will definitely help me to teach confidently, even though the experience will form a real teacher. The practicum has given me the necessary hands-on, which was a great experience indeed. Thank you!

I really learned a lot from being able to take this course. It might be a challenge at times but that's when you know you are growing. The course definitely prepared me for what it is like to be an ESL teacher!

It was a great journey with my ITA family. Throughout the entire course I can feel the responsibility and the importance of being a role model teacher. All the lessons and the brain sucking tasks were so awesome I never thought I could pass them all. Thank you for the learnings ITA!!!

I saw the cheaper versions of online TEFL certifications but they had little to no information. Then I saw the ITA. The information on the website, global reach, thousands of alumni, and the list of services and classes was too good to pass up. I wanted a course, content, and instructors I could trust to give me the tools I needed to teach, and that is exactly what I received. Yes, the price tag is a steep one, but the investment is worth it. I have help with job searches, access a private network of alumni across the world, and an accredited certificate from a world-renowned institution. I am confident in my skills, my knowledge, and my resources, because the other programs that offered a certificate, did not offer what the ITA offers.

I have not looked at any other reviews about the TEFL Academy, so this is my raw opinion on the course. Enrollment Process: The enrollment process was very smooth and pleasant. Although I tend to be a shy person, my advisor was incredibly polite and great with carrying conversation over the phone (which is a trait I lack!). She gave me such great information and answered all of my questions, definitely not "beating around the bush" or trying so hard to "sell it out" as many recruiters tend to do. What I mean is that she was persistent without being pushy. She was consistent with staying in touch with me even though it took me four months to finally enroll due to being in my last semester of college! She could have totally ghosted me during the four months that I was in college, but instead she would occasionally send me helpful emails and resources that served as a little encouragement and reminder. I'd have to say that this greatly influenced my decision in joining the academy, along with its great program and all else it has to offer. Yes, because the advisors are a part of the TEFL Academy, mine was constantly travelling. However, that did not stop her from getting in touch with me when I needed it. She made it easy for me to contact her, which I appreciated. Lastly, she went out of her way during her very own holiday break to help me get a good deal on the classes, as they were running a winter offer. Online Platform: I was INCREDIBLY nervous when realizing that I would not be able to complete this course in person, seeing as I have only ever taken one online class and that ended up horribly! However, the platform they used for their online course was easy to use and very organized. They provided you with videos to help you maneuver the website if need be. One thing that helped put my nerves at ease (especially because I was not confident with my grammar skills) is a grammar module they allow you to access well before the actual course begins to help refresh your memory, or relearn certain grammar. Course Work: This course is a ten week course, having you complete weekly assignments. On Fridays, peer participation is due, and Sundays, the homework assignment is due. Both of these are based off the textbook they provide you with (I chose to purchase a physical copy, but the online version is provided with the course). The assignments do become more challenging as the course progresses, but they are most definitely not impossible. They were very fun to put my creativity to use, while also referring to the textbook for more ideas if I ran out. These assignments are aimed to help you learn how to teach grammar and vocabulary through the creation of activities, and eventually lesson plans. It may sound scary, but they break it down in a way that prepares you for the next step. Trust me, I questioned my ability in successfully completing this course but they literally give you everything you need to help you succeed. My professor was super interesting and encouraging when providing feedback for assignments. She helped point out my strong areas, as well as areas of growth, so that my next assignment would turn out better. I cannot say much about the job search guidance because I have yet to contact them, but I will update this if I am able to when I do get around to doing just that.

This class has been a blessing. It has helped me plan out the next step in my future and I could not be more excited! I knew I wanted to live abroad and this class and guidance have helped me make that a reality. I highly recommend this program if you are interested in working or teaching English abroad. It is organized and easy to use. It provides resources on top of resources to ensure your success with learning, lesson planning, observing, choosing a country, finding a job, and more! 12/10 recommend getting this certification and creating the future you have always envisioned for yourself, just like me!

I would recommend anyone interested in teaching, exploring and traveling to consider International TEFL Academy. As a matter of fact I want to promote it on my Facebook page when I receive my certifications and show everyone, if I can do it you can too. I look forward to sharing my experiences. This was not an easy course, but definitely a rewarding and learning one I will always remember. The cost was affordable, my instructor was fantastic, and the whole team at TEFL was on my side to become a winner, and I became a winner in so many ways I never expected. Thank you!!!!

Getting certified through the TEFL academy was a good next step for me to take towards my career. The online classes were flexible. And there was a wealth of information on the website. Admissions staff was friendly and informative.

The International TEFL Academy online course was not only challenging but the course contents, the instructor, the online operating system was all very thorough and beneficial for the students. The class consisted of a great online PDF version of the textbook and if anything was misunderstood the instructor would be more than grateful to help out and give additional links or help in order for the students to understand. I found that the greatest tool was the video links and live chats provided by the school. Overall, great experience.

I have not yet started teaching abroad but i am much better prepared for the journey now! If you are serious about teaching abroad this is the course to enroll in - well worth the price too. Best of luck to everyone!

I really enjoyed taking this course with ITA, the price was fair for the online course. The materials and course curriculum were high quality. The staff were all super helpful as well. I really would have a hard time finding something I didn't like about ITA. Their requirements were very clear to me and the materials provided helped me meet all the teacher standards required by their course. I definitely feel ready to teach on my own and prepare my own classroom in the near future!

The course was very flexible with my full time work schedule. I felt that I learned a lot from the course even though I already have experience teaching overseas. Course structure was easy to follow. It felt simple to follow through with, but challenging enough to learn from.

I think the two main perks of this course are its practical knowledge (the curriculum was written by practicing and well educated teachers) and its assignment requirements. For an 11-week course, its packed with helpful information. ITA also seems very active in finding jobs for its alumni. I've just finished the course and look forward to a continued relationship with the folks at ITA.
