Fighting Inequality in India
by Globe Aware
Program Overview
Participate in Globe Aware's India program and provide much-needed assistance in building and renovating important facilities for different age groups. Plus, have the opportunity to interact with the local children by teaching basic courses, games, sports, and arts and crafts.
Projects are currently split into small and big based on the number of volunteers required. These may be chosen based on the community’s immediate needs.
For solo, small group, or family volunteers:
- HIV/AIDS care home for children
- Special needs center for adults and kids
- Government schools and daycare centers
For big groups, with more than 20 volunteers
- Sensory garden for a special needs school
- Rural village water harvesting development
- Low-cost, eco-friendly house development
Accommodation options include one of Jaipur's several modest hotels, which all have electricity, running hot water, and western-style toilets. While these aren't "luxurious" accommodations, you will find that these are more than enough to ensure a comfortable experience. You can also choose to live with an Indian family in a homestay.
