Rebuild a Home for Girls in India with Global Impact Homes
We invite you to join us from 9 - 16 February in Puducherry, India, for our Impact Build 2025. We partner with an Indian NGO operating the Janani Home for Girls for this project. Young women, often abused or abandoned or saved from child labor, are housed at this building. They are given a safe space to learn and heal. As a volunteer, expect to help mix concrete, paint, and build with bricks or wood. We will do whatever is necessary to help provide these young women with a better opportunity to learn and live. Our mission goes beyond bricks and mortar. We believe in showing the world the incredible generosity of our volunteers while immersing ourselves in diverse cultures. We focus on creating meaningful experiences, fostering connections, and building better homes and communities. We firmly believe that, at the end of the day, we are all more alike than different. At the end of your week, expect a lot of happy tears as we reflect on the amazing experience that just took place.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the schedule?
Monday to Thursday, we will volunteer from about 8 am until 4 pm, with free time from about 4 pm until dinner around 7 pm. Throughout the week and weekend, we will engage in some fun cultural activities. On Friday, we will volunteer in the morning with a farewell celebration before heading back to Chennai for the final two nights.
What is not included in the cost?
All volunteers will meet in Chennai, India, on Sunday morning, February 9, 2025. From this point through the following seven days, almost all activities are paid for by the nonprofit. Your fee does not include visa fees, alcohol, souvenirs, or any free time activities you do on your own. We'll eat three meals a day and also have snacks throughout the trip. You will be well-fed and stay busy with fun activities while changing lives!
Who are the volunteers?
Our volunteers are generally from the United States and Canada, but we would love to have some international volunteers. We have mostly solo travelers with a married couple or two. The age range is from 20's to 70's. We will have 15 to 16 volunteers participate in this build and, at the end of the week, we will all be best friends.
