What inspired you to work for My Internship Asia?

The education field is something that I am interested in. What I am doing now is related to marketing and sales—that’s what I studied, so it is perfectly matched with my interests.

Describe a typical day at work.

Usually when I start the day I have to check my email to respond to all inquiries from students, and chat with students to provide them information. I also check and update all social media platforms. After that, I will start with other work, which is different everyday and dependent on what project I am handling at that moment. Sometimes I do design and sometimes I create  content.

Why do you do what you do?

I enjoy my work now. I have the chance to do and learn different things and I am happy to be able to guide students to getting what they want in terms of education.

What is your favorite part of your job?

I love interacting with people and helping students to get the right internships. I have passion for anything that can help people, no matter what way that may be. Moreover, I have the chance to do different types of marketing, e.g. digital marketing and sales. I experience different areas of work that can help me to improve myself everyday.

What challenges do you often face and how do you overcome them?

I am challenged by language because English is not my first language. However, everyday I use it for my work and I must be able to use it professionally, which is still in the process of improving. Another challenge is gaining students’ trust and encouraging them to join our internship program.

What makes My Internship Asia special?

My Internship Asia is special because we customize programs according to students’ needs. Also, we are connected with an international company in Thailand, which means international students will not have problems (like language barriers) when working with the organization. We provide sincere service to students and we are here to help them get through the sometimes overwhelming process of going abroad.

What hopes do you have for the future for your organization?

I hope that My Internship Asia will expand the choices for internship destinations. As of now, we only provide internships in Thailand. It would be a good opportunity for both the company and students to have a variety of choices (especially for Thai students who could have the experience of going abroad outside Thailand).

What makes My Internship Asia easy to market to potential participants?

We make a difficult process easy for students. We assist students from the beginning until they get the right internship for them. To conclude, we help students solve problems.

What do you hope participants take away from your programs?

First of all, I hope that they will experience work in real life and experience a different working culture from their home country. I hope that they are able to gain knowledge of the real world. Moreover, with the chance to explore Thailand and see and learn about the beauty of this country, I hope that they will gain more skills in terms of work and life outside the classroom.

Why do you think learning a new language is important?

The more language you know, the more opportunities you find for yourself. Nowadays, everywhere you go is global—there are many different nationalities that you will encounter, and communication is key.

What advice do you have for individuals thinking about going abroad?

Don't be afraid to go out of your comfort zone! Wonderful things are out there waiting for you. Be well prepared, and it will make your travels much easier. If you have the chance to go abroad, just go for it; you will gain experience that you can’t find anywhere else.

What does meaningful travel mean to you?

For me, meaningful travel is every time I have a chance to travel either within my country or abroad. It’s always been a meaningful experience. I learn and see new things. But especially when going abroad, I like to step out of my comfort zone to explore the new world. The more time I spend away from familiar surroundings, the more I learn to embrace the unknown and give into the great vastness of Universe.
