Why did you apply for an international internship?

I was having trouble finding the job I wanted in the U.S. I knew I needed better experience; especially international experience, which is very important to employers today.

Was field was your internship in?

I had a Business and Finance internship.

What made you choose the SK Pacific program?

My career center recommended SK Pacific to me. After checking out their website and talking to them, I knew they would offer me a great experience.

How was the location?

My internship was in Manila. I had an great time. There were awesome people from all over the world. I made a bunch of new friends and traveled to the most beautiful islands I've ever seen.

What makes SK Pacific stand out above other programs?

SK Pacific has an amazing network of companies. Everyone in the program was working at great companies.

What was the local staff support like?

There were SK Pacific coordinators available 24/7. They came with us on weekly events and helped us get used to the city.

Is there anything you wish you’d done differently?

I wish I a had done this sooner. I went on the program after my senior year, if I could do it again I would have gone my Junior year.

What was a typical day like during your program?

During the week we would wake up, eat breakfast, then call an Uber to take us to work. We would usually be in the office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. After work all the interns would get together and get dinner or go out to drinks or music shows. On a couple of the weekends we planned trips to the island beach resorts near Manila.

What was your favorite activity outside of the internship?

Definitely the travel. The Philippines is by far the most beautiful place I have ever been.

What was your favorite place you visited while in the Philippines?

My favorite trip we went on was to Palawan. They have amazing islands and a lot of wildlife.

What type of accommodation did you have?

We all stayed at a really nice residence hotel. There were cleaning services, a pool, a gym, and restaurants near by. The rooms were great and it was also in a great location.

Did you feel safe living and working in Manila?

I did feel safe while I was there. I was a little concerned about this before I left, but no one had any trouble at all. Some neighborhoods were not super safe but our hotel and offices were far from those areas.

How has your internship with SK Pacific impacted your professional life?

It helped me get a full time job at Baker & Mckenzie. I'm really thankful to SK Pacific for helping me.
