Why do you do what you do?

It is my passion. It started out as a hobby and when it was time to choose a degree, I decided to go for what I believed would help me reach my dreams.

What is your favorite part of your job?

Working on company operations, learning more about the Agile methodology and applying it in our daily work to make teams more efficient and productive.

How do you use your education and international background in your current role?

In my current position in the company, I use the skills and knowledge learned from my education to be able to develop web applications such as dyTAB. My international experience helped me gain a better understanding of the culture here and the way people work and think. This helps me communicate better with colleagues and interns.

What are some current projects you are working on?

Right now, I am working on the implementation and application of the Agile Methodology - SCRUM, Kanban and Scrumban. This will allow teams to be more efficient and productive when it comes to the way they work on the projects of their assigned units and branches. As a full-stack developer, I am working on dyTAB 2.0 development in Vue.js and C# and dyFORM which is the front-end of the dyPAS technology stack to give users a great experience while using our BPM-RPA-AI process automation solutions.

What advice would you tell your pre-travel self?

I would look forward to meeting new people and I would probably be prepared with the change in cultures. Maybe I will have jet lag, so I’ll have to prepare some new hobbies I would like to try for when I am still in transition of my body clock. I would also start learning the language in the place where I would go. Communication is key.

What makes Proceedit special?

Proceedit is a very flexible and people-first organization with a wide range of projects that give its employees the possibility to gain experience and knowledge in their desired field. Their expertise in different areas can be reinforced and put into practice. Moreover, proceedit is rapidly growing and gaining competitive advantage throughout the years, increasing the efficiency in its working environment as well as the products and services.

Why should someone choose your organization over competitors?

Despite its rapid growth, the organization itself has a lot of room for improvement and growth. Someone who is choosing between different companies in the market can potentially acquire the professional skills in proceedit, and they can significantly contribute to the innovation- not only in the technological field but also in other departments. You can also contribute to the branch or unit that you have been assigned to.

What hopes do you have for the future for your organization?

Proceedit can strongly compete against large competitors in the market with the newly improved roadmaps of various projects that would certainly attract more stakeholders, clients and customers.

What do you hope participants take away from your programs?

New experiences and more motivation and inspiration to take on new challenges. Our programs help them learn something that they haven’t learned from university or from their studies. We want them to have a real work experience without worrying about the lack of potential.

If you could participate in one of Proceedit's programs, where would you go and what would you do?

I would participate in the Technology branch as I am a techy person as well. Aside from the fact that I am the Operations branch director, I am also passionate about technological innovation. The development of different applications and products is one of my main fields of interest and expertise. Therefore, I would like to take part in the development of dyTAB, dyBOX and maybe to reinforce my passion for teaching, contributing to the dyVUE learning-by-doing module will be a very good opportunity.

What questions do participants often ask you, and how do you typically respond?

They typically ask me if it’s difficult to work in a new place and I respond to them with a big smile saying that, at first, things may be hard to cope up with and deal with. There are lots of things that you don’t know and maybe you would think that you are not capable of doing what you are assigned to do because of the lack of experience and knowledge, but don’t lose hope! It’s always like that at first. If you don’t come out of your comfort zone, you won’t be able to grow as a person. You’ll just find yourself doing the things easier than when you started off.

Why is it important for people to travel abroad and experience new cultures?

It’s important to learn how other people are living to better understand how to communicate with them. When you are able to communicate with other people, you will most likely be able to work with them efficiently and this would give better results. Another thing is to contribute to the application of inclusion and globalization.

Why do you think learning a new language is important?

Learning a new language will help you expand your knowledge and your network. Being able to communicate with other people will open doors to new possibilities instead of staying local. Allowing yourself to experience the world and the world will give you a better vision of the future.

What does meaningful travel mean to you?

To me, meaningful travel consists of gaining new experiences culturally and academically. Learning about the culture of the place and experiencing it, is definitely a big milestone in my journey in life. Getting to know the place, its people and its culture will help me work and study easily.

Another thing is the professional experience gained from travelling. There are a whole lot of different things to try and learn.

When you learn something new that would make a big impact on your professional career, it would definitely benefit you personally and professionally.

What does ethical global engagement mean to you?

Ethical global engagement is definitely one of the most important things in life because when you are involved in international travel, you will understand how it is to live and work in a different place from where you are originally from. You can see that you, as a person, will grow in terms of knowledge and experience. Someone who has experienced engagements with other cultures and races will most probably be more open to new possibilities. Your way of thinking and your lifestyle changes when you are globally engaged.

It makes you a better person, in my opinion.

I’m actually a low-tech person: I was not familiar with process-working platforms, and working remotely was a big ambiguity. I knew Proceedit via the Erasmus network, and was attracted to their Atlassian platform, with Confluence, Bitbucket, and Jira.
