What inspired you to work for Chipkoo?
As an employee at a startup, you're able to work on projects in both your own department and others. This has enabled me to network with other individuals at all levels of the company, thus enhancing my communication skills and confidence.
Describe a typical day at work.
My typical working day involves standard HR admin in addition to working on other more formal tasks such as documentation and writing/checking policies. Sometimes this is challenging, however, I'm lucky to have a team that is helpful and supportive in everything I do which is why I find the range of tasks I do very interesting.

What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of the job would be working with a collaborative and diverse group of people. Since my first day everyone has been so welcoming and working in HR makes me feel as though I can help others, no matter how small the task.
What are some current projects you are working on?
Currently, I'm working on onboarding documentation and policies, which although I have no experience, I am finding an interest in research and writing from scratch. I'm able to collate relevant information, analyze it, and then write a document based on my findings.
I have also had more creative projects e.g. social-media related, and I enjoyed having the freedom to be creative in the presentation of documents for the company.
What makes Chipkoo special?
Our team is very inclusive of everyone, there is never a time when I think I can't talk to someone about something I'm struggling with as everyone is so helpful and understanding. Although there is a hierarchy, like in any company, you don't feel it as much when working alongside someone in management as everyone is down-to-earth.
What is Chipkoo’s mission and how do you continue to work toward it?
Chipkoo Labs focuses on developing potential career growth by finding out the creative, comprehensive and sustainable skills of the global workforce, and then incorporating them into our virtual internship programs, thus enhancing individuals’ employability skills.
What do you hope participants take away from your programs?
Chipkoo International Internship Programme equips interns to become effective business professionals. We make sure our interns receive high-quality training and mentoring through which they can learn new skills that will assist them in the business world.
We hope that our interns/participants feel comfortable in their future work environment with the skills they've developed through our programmes.
How do you help support participants?
Our internship opportunities support participants by providing them with a skillset that is necessary for their future careers, due to constant innovation and digital transformation.
This is set in motion from day one, from their onboarding sessions about who we are as a company and what we do. They receive constant feedback throughout their time with us regarding potential opportunities in a work environment to enhance their employability skills.

Why is it important for people to travel abroad and experience new cultures?
I think travelling is important in order to experience various cultures and see how diverse the world really is. It can inspire people to want to continue learning new things through immersing themselves in new experiences.
Why do you think learning a new language is important?
Similar to travelling, learning a new language allows you to experience diversity whilst pushing yourself to learn a new skill. It can also help with career prospects as it shows commitment to learning a new skill.
What does meaningful travel mean to you?
Meaningful travel is different for every individual; some people may travel as a retreat or break from the reality of life. Either way, I believe that meaningful travel is to enrich, to learn, and to grow your perspective on life.
