California & the Canyons 21 Days

This is truly the ultimate West Coast teenage road trip! The program begins in San Francisco and Lake Tahoe in Northern California. Then, cruise down the coast and fall in love with the beaches of Santa Barbara and the most famous hotspots in LA and San Diego. Next, it takes you into the American Southwest, exploring the majesty of dramatically changing scenery with a stay in Vegas. The grand finale is in beautiful Scottsdale. Our program leaders are experts at creating a close-knit, inclusive family atmosphere where everyone feels welcome. With so much adventure and excitement on this teen tour, you’re in for an unforgettable summer with plenty of new friendships ahead! This program is available to students completing grades 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 (ages 13-17). Separate departure dates are assigned to create compatible co-ed age groups. We offer an exclusive departure for middle school students completing grades 7 and 8.

TFT: USA for Younger Teens: Hawaii and California

Join us this summer for sun, sand, and sea turtles as we explore the Hawaiian Islands and California on an adventure designed for younger teens. From vibrant Honolulu to laid-back San Diego, experience postcard-perfect beaches, turquoise water, lively cities, and plenty of outdoor fun. Learn about sea turtle conservation by supporting efforts to protect endangered hawksbill turtles. Activities may include watching over basking turtles, nest checks, and night patrols. You’ll also volunteer with the Boys and Girls Club of Honolulu, running activities for local youth and gaining insight into their mission. Then head to Southern California to see San Diego’s iconic sights, volunteer with the local Boys and Girls Club, and learn to surf at one of the area’s famous beaches. Adventure continues in both states: hike a volcanic crater, surf, and ride a traditional outrigger canoe in Hawaii before heading to California for more exploration. Discover Los Angeles, take in dramatic views along Highway 1 and Big Sur, and visit Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Francisco. End the trip by experiencing the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman’s Wharf, Chinatown, Muir Woods, and more in the City by the Bay.

Hawaiian Adventure and Community Service in Honolulu, Hawaii

A true tropical paradise with breathtaking nature, stunning views, world-famous white-sand beaches, rainforests, waterfalls, and incredible biodiversity—Hawaii is a dream destination for young people from all over the world. This exciting adventure program will take our students to some of the best destinations on the Hawaiian islands, introducing them to one of the most diverse and most awe-inspiring ecosystems in the world. They will marvel at the natural beauty of Honolulu – washed by the turquoise waters of the Pacific Ocean, with colorful seaside villages, and some of the world’s most spectacular beaches. Students will learn about Sustainability, Biodiversity, and Aquatic Ecosystems in a fun and engaging way, based on our Experiential Learning Method. They will also participate in community service projects with our Hawaiian partners, protecting animal habitats and fighting deforestation, sea pollution, and climate change.

ARCC Gap: Hawaii - O'ahu, Kauai, the Big Island

Explore the tropical paradise of the Hawaiian islands of O’ahu, Kauai, and the Big Island, where white sand beaches, turquoise waters, and tropical forest become our classroom. Building on 38 years of domestic programming and our long standing partnerships with impactful local organizations, this unique semester allows us to investigate important environmental and social issues while immersing ourselves in the Aloha culture. Protect native forests and important watersheds in O’ahu. Learn about marine ecosystems while earning your SCUBA certification in Kauai. Investigate important food security issues and help with projects to ensure local sustainability. Lend an important hand in coral and intertidal studies and learn to surf on the island of Hawai’i. Discover unbelievable beauty and culture while getting to know these famous islands like a local!
