Adventure Tours in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic

I was invited on this missionary trip by a fellow coach. It was a total of 16 coaches who embarked on this journey. We had an idea it would be hard, but I don’t think any of us fully knew what we were getting into. From the first zoom calls, to arriving in DR, setting up at base camp, hiking, everything we were fully informed of what to expect and we were in for an amazing journey. We completed the climb in 2 days, first time this was ever done. I don’t think I would have been able to achieve this climb without the unrelenting support from Chiqui, the guides, the mules and the 15 other female coaches who were with me. We all supported and motivated each other. Going to the village on Monday was a very emotional day. Being able to actually hear and see the difference in this communities life was so heartwarming. I loved the daily reflections we shared, the slumber parties, the blessings of the food before enjoying a meal, I loved and embraced every moment of this experience and can not wait to bring my husband next year to participate in the actual building of a Latrine in a community. Thank you Blue Missions for doing what you do and planting the seed of serving others. I will continue to spread your message and share my journey, in hopes of inspiring others to get involved and serve. This trip was absolutely life changing and filled my cup in every possible way.

Hiking Pico Duarte with BLUE Missions was one the most incredible and rewarding things I have ever experienced. The trip was spent among great friends, with beautiful views and inspiring meditations. The trip was equal parts challenging and fun with a lot of moments for self-reflection and meditation. 10/10 recommend for anyone looking for an inspiring experience made better by great company and a great purpose.

The trek is a lot of fun and an awesome challenge. The views are amazing and nothing beats the feeling of getting to the very top! The food was the best surprise - initially thinking it couldn't possibly be that good or filling. It was both. Still, make sure to pack snacks for yourself. Overall it is a great experience to do with friends as well as to meet new people on a fun adventure.

I've always considered myself to be an adventurous person and this experience was one for the books. The trek is a physical and mental challenge that is extremely rewarding when you reach the summit. There's so much to celebrate at the summit but my favorite one would be the amount of money I fundraised to bring clean water and sanitation to more communities through out the Dominican Republic. I was amazed at what you discover about yourself while hiking 42.2 KM over the course of three days. The mountains have a way of bringing me back to a humble, live in the moment state of mind. Definitely recommend this trek.
