Description

The charming Provençal town of Arles, with a 2,000-year-old Roman arena at its center, is famous for its beautiful architecture and its association with Van Gogh, Gauguin, Cézanne, and Picasso. Many dance, music, photography, theater, and folklore festivals take place in and around the city throughout the summer, making it an ideal location for summer study in France.

Highlights

The IES Abroad Arles program offers you the opportunity to immerse yourself in French language study, the culture of the Midi region of France, and French-taught interdisciplinary courses in:
- French Language
- History of Photography
- History of Theater
- Sociology

Classes are scheduled from Monday through Thursday. Friday of every week is reserved for mandatory field study activities and excursions organized and sponsored by IES Abroad.

Additional Exciting Aspects of the Program Include:
- Cultural lunches with students & faculty  improve language skills and discover local cuisine during three IES Abroad-sponsored lunches at local restaurants each week.
- Live with a local host family.
- Participate in day-trips to places such as Avignon, le Pont du Gard, and Les Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer.
