Volunteer in Cambodia: Teaching English

by: Volunteering Journeys

Add first reviewVerifiedSince 2013

Unlike in some countries, the Cambodian government cannot provide every citizen with a full education. The population is generally eager to improve their skills and learn everything they can, from adults to younger children. These interests include learning English, reading, and writing skills, which help them break out of poverty and open up more career opportunities in the community. By learning valuable skills that can be applied across multiple jobs, people are given the freedom to make their own choices and build the life they truly want. Due to the need for education in Cambodia, our volunteering projects work to help achieve it, and we urgently need enthusiastic volunteers to do so. Working with individuals to improve their English and computer literacy could make the biggest difference in someone’s life, and other subjects, like mathematics, can also come in useful. No matter what subject takes your interest, you can make use of it while teaching in Cambodia.
