Program Overview

Surrounded by beautiful pine forests, this beautiful and serene 6-hectare sanctuary, founded in 2000, is home to rescued abandoned pets and animals from the exotic pet trade. As a volunteer, you can help in two areas:

- With the wolves, wolf dogs, huskies, and marmosets
- With farmyard animals like goats, pigs, sheep, horses, donkeys, emus, alpacas, tortoises, and bunnies

Work hands-on as part of a team under the animal manager and, between duties, have time to spend special moments with the animals. Your volunteer duties could include food preparation, feeding routines, animal enrichment, cleaning and maintaining enclosures, grooming and walking the huskies, cutting firebreaks, and general administration and assistance

Currently, the sanctuary has several packs of wolves, wolfhounds, huskies and 2 marmoset brothers. The wolves, wolfhounds, and huskies get fed once a day, while the marmosets need to be fed twice a day. The farmyard animals get fed three times a day, which means lots of feeding routines to assist.

Become exposed to a range of wildlife and farm animals living in the sanctuary, located in the most beautiful forest setting on South Africa's Garden Route.
