The Language House TEFL

The team at The Language House made moving to a foreign country extremely comfortable and easy. They not only instructed you on teaching English but helped teach you about the city. Everyone here comes from different backgrounds, are here for different reasons and they all have different experiences with their move to Prague. Knowing you can contact any one of them with an issue or questions is a huge help. The continuous support you know you're leaving with gives you a great sense of security. The community of TLH grads is one big family. It was really easy to connect with your fellow classmates and past grads as well. The course is really demanding, but you gain a wealth of teaching, methodology, grammar and much more in a short amount of time. The instructors have a real passion for what they do and bring it to their teaching. Chris W has an impressive background with teaching English and living abroad before he started the language house, and he brings his experience to the course. He's continuously trying to improve the course and the experience for his students.

I just completed a whirlwind TEFL course during the month of October 2014. It was more challenging than I could have ever imagined, but also much more rewarding. There were tears, blood and weight loss, but also aced grammar tests and legions of satisfied Czech students. I don;t know if I will be able to make a living here teaching English or how long I will be here, but this experience has been truly eye-opening and transcendental.

After taking the TEFL course at TLH, you'll be able to feel comfortable teaching lessons and knowing how to plan and execute them almost with muscle memory given the intensiveness of the course. The course is really busy for the month you're there, but first you're not alone in gaining certification, and there is a huge community of TLH graduates living in Prague to help you with searching for places to live (if deciding to stay long term - which is definitely worth it), to find work, and of course to have fun in the city or in "the nature" as the Czechs say. By the end of the course you'll know more about English grammar than you probably thought possible and if you've ever been nervous about being in front of a classroom, you'll definitely have enough experience to get rid of your nervousness. Definitely worth the experience!
