The Excellence Center / Engage in Palestine offers educational, cultural, and community development programs for Palestinians, international students, interns, and volunteers. Founded in June 2011 in Hebron, West Bank, the center connects global participants with local communities through immersive programs.
Its volunteer and internship programs provide hands-on experience in community development, education, and social work. Open to individuals aged 18 and older, including gap-year students, university students, and retirees, programs run year-round for 1 week to 3 months. Volunteers teach English, organize workshops, and support children, refugees, and women while collaborating with local institutions.
The Excellence Center also offers Arabic language courses, including Modern Standard, Levantine dialect, and Palestinian colloquial Arabic, available in-person or online. Courses range from super-intensive to non-intensive and include summer and winter programs, focusing on practical communication and cultural understanding.
Participants also join cultural activities and field trips to refugee camps, schools, NGOs, and Hebron’s historic sites, gaining a deeper understanding of Palestinian society.
By combining volunteering, internships, language learning, and cultural immersion, the Excellence Center provides an authentic, impactful experience in Hebron, fostering skills, cross-cultural awareness, and lasting personal and professional connections.
